Yes quite a few of the plants will turn a little blue/purple and some will display very strong colouration. As for which of the 2 I would go for... they each have their own distinctive characteristics. I suggest you read a few of the threads in here and read the strain descriptions to help you decide
good luck

There are no stupid questions.
One pheno of regular Blueberry I have, that goes past 70 days turns purple only during colder months. So yes, they do turn color. IMHO. I went for the faster one, 50 days, very potent, beautiful. Good yield, great bag appeal. lol. Good luck.

Nice Elevator Man! my flo cut did the exact same thing, here's a pic of it outdoors...
Best thing is I had two males that did the same same, this female only did the purple stem outdoors, but I crossed them and so far the offspring have all shown it right from the start (5 for 5, anyways...). My blueberry's leaves go purple in the later stages of flower, just as Watson853 said, in the colder months, so I haven't seen it recently, and the bud are a light purple that unfortunatly seems to die down after curing. I have some cuts outdoors and the purple nugs are much darker. These pics are kinda old, and crappy but you can see the sweet dark purple leaves... So there is alot of color available in the both of them, I can't wait to see what the cross will do. An entirely purple plant perhaps?

I popped a pack of each in '98, and as far as I remember, all but one of the Blueb. turned all purple w/o cold. The Flos where all purple, exept for 2 w/green leaf/purple calyx.
Those Blueberries were my all time favorite. Two of them had it all. Great berrytaste and a kick ass euphoric and satisfying high. |

Hydro,
Flo smells fabulous (even while vegging), tastes wonderful and has a very pleasant uplifting high. It is not a high yielder but what she produces is some really great dank weed. Great colours as well. If you vaporize it tastes just like it smells. I have had troubles propogating from cuttings however I have having enough luck this time around to fill my cabinet/250W grow. Peace from the Island. |

I'm thoroughly enjoying growing Flo (Dutch Passion version), though it's not without it's problems. The purple pheno I have is weird under HID light - it gets shrivelled leaves very easily. Every time it puts on a growth spurt, or I pinch the tips, or repot it, the lower leaves start getting brown spots, and then drying from the tip, curling up and then dropping off. The growing tips are fine - it's always about five leaves below the tips when it starts. For ages I thought it was nutes, pH, anything. But I think it's just a trait - my green pheno never shows it, and all my other plants never show it, under identical conditions. Also the outdoor plants we're growing don't show it either - and it doesn't show it under fluorescents! But under HID...shrivel.
It still flowers fine, but I think the yield was lower as it doesn't have the shade leaves to keep feeding it. But it tastes and smells gorgeous, and the high is amazing, which is why I'm persevering with it. Also the clones are much more vigorous than the original seed mother, so I'm not too worried long-term. I'm just growing out my last four Flo seeds too, and I'm hoping for one good male, and another purple female. BTW, here's a pic of my outdoor Flo, with the purplest stems you ever saw - I have lots more of this pheno and the green one in my gallery: |
