I have one all planned out and would like to go an pick up the materials. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to set a small dehumidifier in the box as well? since it doesn't produce heat (well, not a lot anyway) and i will have a small fan for circulation, would this be a good idea?

You should get a silica gel dehumidifer, it usess no electricity and it can be re-activated over and over again. Check ebay, theyre quite cheap.
