Texas: Family Hopes Cannabis Oil Bill Will Become Law
"Texas Senate Bill 339 allows for decriminalization of cannabis oil for children with seizure disorders. The bill has passed both the Texas Senate and House and is now waiting for Gov Abbott's signature. He has until June 21 to sign the bill, but if he does nothing it can still become law."
However, because it requires doctors to "prescribe" cannabis, which is forbidden by federal law, many are saying it won't help anyone because the doctors won't write a prescription for it. The wording should have used "recommend" rather than "prescribe" which is how other states are doing it. https://www.kwtx.com/ourtown/home/hea...305322981.html |

I have a recently-discovered seizure disorder. Our governor already guaranteed he'd sign this and basically only this with regard to cannabis oil-related medication since it ain't psychoactive. I have appointments lined up to determine what the fuck's going with my brain; expect either a staunch refusal to prescribe or a (non-)trip report by me in two months.

Another shitty bill by politicians that don't understand the plant or care for the people they represent. Cannabis needs to be legal for all.

It appears instead that they wrote in stone that CBD containing less than 0.5% THC is most assuredly a controlled substance, which the citizens of TX will be allowed to legally use under certain conditions, such as when five-toed unicorns fly over the Alamo at midnight Feb. 31st. What they did was make CBD illegal forever for Texans. Slightly different interpretation. Other red states such as GA and SC now allow CBD when it's from all those parts of the plant that it doesn't exist in, and didn't change their law since the 70's in the slightest with their meaningless smoke and mirrors.

Showing those with need what integrity and compassion looks like in Texas.
