i just ordered a nikon coolpix 4500 for 330 bucks
4 megapixel, 4x optical zoom, 4x digital zoom

the same model at compusa was over 600

Good question. I'm also looking for an inexpensive digital camera. So far the stores in my area are of no help. They just want to sell you the most expensive one. I'll probably make the same mistake i all ways do, and choose the one that looks the coolest.

Check out Sony's range of digi cams. they are called "Sony Cybershot" and they have some great budget camera's.
The last 2 camera's ive had have been Sony Cybershots, both are great cam's.

I agree those cybershots are cheap....

Do a search on ebay for the cybershot u10

its a 2 year old version that is tiny and can be had for about $50-$75

Its a great durable camera
