Any eta on the blockhead lineups?
just wondering if there's any eta on the blockhead releases - really looking for some Heavy hitting pain relievers. Really hoping you used the bc pine and Dom in this breeding round (hightest sounds interesting too!)

I have no idea when these will be released but I'm thinking it won't be until stock from the Jack crosses run thin.

Jack crosses aren't going away are they? I say release them all and have a fat catalog. Jacks, SS, and Block Heads may force some breeders to rethink their offerings. SSxBH- Lemon Head sounds nice! CongoxBH will have you banging on those drums.

Haha.. Don't let my words dishearten you Krausen, like I said, I have no idea when they'll be released. I don't speak for Chi and really have no clue when they'll go to retailers.
It was just a thought.. not an edict ![]() As for the Jack crosses running thin - It was my understanding that the batch would be limited and that after they ran out that would be it. Again, Chi might have other ideas...

I wonder out of the 150 seed run how many plants Chimera is keeping for breeding stock? I can't help but think about the elite parents that must of been found. Some pictures of a few boys and girls would kick ass. I have never personally tried Blockhead that I know of but I have always wanted to. Really cool that Chimera let us get a crack at the BH open pollination. Interesting things to come for sure.

I agree Bob.
What Chi alluded to in the post I pasted to the archive thread is very interesting indeed. A large open pollination probably has some amazing Blockhead F2 to be found. I believe Chi when he says he only uses the what he sees as quality. What also securely roots me in this side of IC is the diversity of the genetics used. So many 'breeders' are playing with similar genetics (don't get me wrong, some are doing great work) but the mothers Chi uses aren't so heard of or even in circulation. It's such a completely different catalogue! Plus I don't think I've seen one bum review yet. I'm sure there will be growers finding plants that aren't to their tastes but would probably say the plant was bursting with vigour, potency and flavour. The Blockhead release will rock boats! Not only will it be great it'll be unique. I see amazing coloured plants and some crazy expressions for us all.

Personally I wish I had the space to do proper selections.. After growing out the few varieties that I think I'll like, I then want to grow out a load of my favourite to find that special plant. That was my original plan with the Blueberry crosses. I have so many packs in deep freeze waiting for the day when I'll be able to let rip... Maybe when I'm retired eh?
I've never tried Blockhead either and some of the reports back on the pure, unadulterated BH have me wondering whether I'll like it. Who's grown and smoked a good deal of BH here?? I think I would personally shy away from the phenos that made me feel like I had a block in my head..

So far I have some seeds of several of Chimeras pollen donators. Shishkaberry, Blueberry, and Jack. Now I want to get some of his sweet skunk offerings.
I personally like the idea of small batch releases of top grade genetics that no other company is offering or working with. If I keep seeing interesting crosses and phenomenal reports coming back I'll keep buying gear from Chi. Awesome to get such a variety of different world class genetics. I am sure I will see something I like out of the Blockhead beans. I am wondering how dominant it behaves in crosses? Looking forward to what is to come out of these. Seeing what mothers Chi used is always a blast. Good times! |
