Purple auto gene recessive ?

I crossed 2 very purple devil cream with each other and also crossed the forced male devil cream to an ice cool auto. None of the off spring for either the devil cream x devil cream or the devil cream x ice cool are showing the purple calyx like the original ? just wondering if this purple gene is a recessive gene ? All offspring are growing really nice and similar.

Hi dankster303, nice to see you are doing some experiments

I need to talk with the breeders because I don't know too much about this and I cannot give you a good answer.
Thanks,
Sweet smokes!

Hello, I have a safer answer

The purple color character seems to be Polygenic: that is, several genes are added, if all of them are purple promoters, you obtain a very dark purple. You can obtain many nuances depending on the amount of purple genes you manage to gather. The purple genes are co-dominant with the green color.

So is very strange not to get even a slight purple color from the crossing of two purple plants. Maybe some polen of a “green” plant sneaked into your grow due to your other plants or a neighbor’s crop.

Have you had any male or hermaphrodite plant nearby?
Greetings!

nope. very tightly regulated. never had trouble with a breeding experiment. all ofspring are very similar in structure and all are female. just not purple.

I think it depends on phenos, or has been our experience. Have grown several strains of Sweet Seeds (like them!!)...some colored others not. Those, where we made seeds, certain phenos (maybe 20%) exhibited color, but not like the F1 bought (like Dark Devil).

So either recessive or pheno driven. Could be way off...just quoting our experiences with "colored" strains (blue, purple, pink strains).

Im guessing that it is more of a recessive gene. I germinated maybe 30. and im sad to say im actually scrapping the entire project. I am making a new order tonight. ice cool auto. sweet special auto. and bloody skunk auto. going to cross everything with bloody skunk and see what happens.

the purple gene is not recessive. it has come on really strong in the last few days. it just did not start off as strong. now about 3 out of 4 are showing purple. That would also probably be the reason you will see 20-30 purple autoflower strains popup from other companies.
