Has anyone done any proper reading on these new tests ?
I can't seem to get any proper information there seems to be a lot of contradiction in the amount to make you fail the test .
A mate had 3 decent spliffs last night and tested himself after 12 hrs and it cane back as a pass , he's going to do the same tonight and wait 10 hrs then 8 tomorrow to find out where it's hits a fail .

Theres a story in my local paper about some lads getting busted under these new laws for having a few spliffs in their motor. They will use these devices just like a breathalyser and probably will be used at every "routine" stop, regardless of situation.

The only chance we have is to let the police take the low hanging fruit and pull ur fucking socks up before u get in a car, i.e make sure u havent got any weed on u.

It would be extremely helpful to know, even a rough idea, of how long you have to wait before passing one of those tests - im in no doubt that thc concentration in my blood plasma would be enough to send a "normal" user to the moon and yet im "sober".

I wonder if their testing machine makes any provisions for tolerance, i bet it does not.

Apparently it doesn't it's a set level they go off but I read that if you've got a bit of red eye that's enough for them to test you . I'm sorry but at 4 in the morning my eyes are just about open �� so I know I'll get tested on the way to work no matter what .
Any accident or traffic violation is cause to be tested too

It makes no sense to me. The roadside saliva test will test positive if you've smoked within 24 hours. However no one remains intoxicated for 24 hours. So you'll still test positive when you're not intoxicated and therefore fit to drive? Is that fair?

And the detection levels are ridiculous. You're considered positive if your blood has 2 micrograms per litre, however heavy cannabis users will test over 20 micrograms per litre for up to 67 days after smoking.

So basically if you're a regular smoker you'll always test ten times the limit, regardless of when you last smoked.

I forsee lots of court appeals and a judicial review of the stupid law. Manchester police are already saying they won't enforce it until it's been through the courts as they can see how unfair it is.

I read the same on a few websites but others are saying its 10 , can't be good when they don't seem to know themselves .

Even if it is 10 micrograms per litre, most smokers will still test positive even if they haven't smoked for weeks so it makes zero sense.

I don't see it being in force for too long.

They have had this in Spain for a few years now. We got stopped once, smoking and with no time to use the Orange Magic spray... Cop smells it, asks where it is, my mate hands him his tin, a g of herb in with loose tobacco, cop throws this away, but not so far.. Says he will test me, my mate, a local, blags him that I am a non smoker and he decides not to test me. Not the first time looking very straight has kept me safe.

Point is, iirc the test costs 7 or 17 Euros and los pigs are very proud of their high detection rate, it will be used to justify this shit, so they only use them when they have a real belief of success. Sounds like the UK will be similar, but will still have the grey area of quantity. Most of us now probably smoke 10x the quantity of THC compared to when we started smoking, so if I stopped for a week and got compared to a new smoker who was off their tits on a half of what I have sloshing around my bloodstream...

Plus, it has also been shown that most people drive safer when stoned, it slows you down a bit, whereas drink and coke speed you up and make you take more risks, with poorer judgemental capacity.
