I had a few questions for you...
What can you say about yield and so on? And about phenotypes?

Thanks again for sharing pics with us, we always enjoy seeing such positive result from our genetics.

All the best,
Mr B.
I can't talk about phenotypes :

I only had 1 gifted seed . I grew it last year veg indoor / flower outdoor ) . But the weather was terribly hot . Plants had a lot of stress . And I had a S1 seed . ( so the plant on picture )

It was totally similar to her mother . But this spring harvest the yield was good, the bigger was so compact that i had a little bit of moisture, the plant was more impressive IRL than on a pic .

I 've shown pic to a friend ( a serious one) who has done it also, he told me I had a very sativa phenotype . Very big leaves but also 18 liters pot .

The finished product was looking very similar to grapefruit, with same after smell .
I should test more Sexbud in the future always indoor/outdoor .
I really like those strains . ( grapefruit / c99 / sexbud )

Hey Capt,

Thanks for sharing your experience with us. Sounds strange since it has an amazing if not unique smell and flavours, always pending on fruity taste like pinneaple or grapefruit since is part of the Grapefruit family.
But still, I believe that a bad experience can happen to anybody.

Thanks again for popping into the conversation,

All the best,
Mr B.

I brought this sexbud seed a few times in the past, had 2 very successful crops from this and yielded amazing, do agree with the lack of taste though :(
plenty more flavours out there

My first time growing sex. Bud.

My two plants are still in veg. Both are topped, one is already pre-flowering. One was fast. The other was slow but with a little patience she exploded and took off these past two weeks. Beautiful plant, sturdy structure, sativa-like leaves, tops well, easy to grow. I can't wait till harvest!

Hey Emeraldo,

You did great, Sexbud like to be topped too. Actually when well topped it can go wild and develop faster and smoother.
And the slow veg is kind of normal. Sexbud has a slow start but as you noticed as soon as it takes off you realise how great it can turn out

What about phenos? Grapefruit, pineapple?

Thanks for sharing the picture, much appreciated.
Looking forward to see some more in the next weeks

All the best,
Mr B.

In order to understand the Sexbud you kind of "need" to compare it with C99 or Grapefruit strain in general...

Actually if compared to C99 Sexbud presents quite interesting features

Sexbud is quite fast, especially if compared with the C99 (7-9 max of flowering weeks for the Sexbud). The plant it self can show wider leaves or even more dense ones but always with the same Sativa feature.
It reacts extraordinary well to topping, you may notice it when compared to C99 or Grapefruit. Sexbud, once topped, can definitely take off and grow strong and healthy.
In addition to this this variety shows an incredible amounts of crystals and trichomes, is actually way frostier than the C99.

About the odour...is exactly as you described, Grapefruit/Pineapple which are the most common phenos of the Sexbud too. In any case mostly tropical fruit with really sweet taste.

If you'll grow more in the future please feel free to share anything with us.

All the best,
Mr B.

Thanks for popping by, Mister Bean.

What you say is absolutely true. Sexbud can be slow at first, but then she will surprize you and take off and catch up with the fastest strains.

One seedling took off nicely from the first. The second seed actually produced twin seedlings. Since both of those twins were slow, I decided to give the larger one the chance rather than lose both. So I ended up with two (rather than three).

They are both growing well. Lighter green than, say, ICE or Purple Maroc, and less thick with side-branches, good airflow. I guess that is the sativa side being dominant.

Anyway, here some sexbud "p-o-r-n" (for those who are inclined to want to see them, if not, please cover your eyes and look away ) photos taken today. The shorter one was my runt that has pushed into veg big time. The bigger one was germinated in late April and has been keeping up with the other strains nicely.

I am totally happy with Female Seeds, I had 100% germination rate (Sexbud, Purple Maroc, ICE) and all of the plants are beautiful.

The larger sexbud has a sweet pineapple smell, this has become more noticeable just in the past two days. Am now in week 5 of veg, assume this is right on schedule, Mr. B?
