Hey Sat,

I am here to support, so I am glad to read about everyone's experience.

I really like the description you gave of the effect. Is kind of reflecting our beloved Sexbud, gentle but determined

The 2nd plant you had, which I am sorry it was eaten by goats, was it with wide leaves like an Indica kind of? And the one that you harvested was it pure Sativa or did you notice something concerning the leaves?

I was just curious about this detail since it's always interesting to know why one was bigger and the other smaller.

All the best,
Mr B.

It is still alive, but it mostly stopped producing flower clusters, and it looks like it's just going to ripen what was left on it.

That one is about 5 1/2 weeks into flowering.

Some of the popcorn from the first one dried; in just a few days, it burned normally and lost all the terrible taste in a "quick dry" method. And the buzz really did change. We find it goes right to the brain. It has no body effect. It's like a gentle escalator ride going up, with oil poured into the brain, and being polished by silk. It's the opposite of a headache. Modest mood boost, kind of like a St. John's Wort or something. But there is no rushing, whooshing, speed, giggles, or anything like that, it's still pretty calm and clear.

Yes, the second plant has much wider Indica-looking leaves, it is a lighter color, and stretched a lot more. I thought I made a mistake and put the wrong plant in the pot, but once it started flowering, the flowers matched the first plant. I guess it's a slight genetic variation, since the growing method was basically the same for everything.

The first one was closer to a Sativa look, not "pure", just pretty obviously "sativa dominant hybrid". But I must admit the buds are not sativa-fluffy at all, they are much more indica-dense. So there is "a lot" of smoke in the bud, but the smoke itself is light.

And yes, the effect is very clean. We haven't found any mental distortion as Emeraldo mentioned. Independent testimony about this--without me saying what it's supposed to be:

To the brain, no body effect, so it's "diet weed" (no munchies).
Fresca flavored--that is a soda with grapefruit.
Decent painkiller towards minor arthritis (I did not expect that).

I plan on letting the...half of the second plant...make it to at least eight weeks of flowering to see if there is any difference.

Well to be honest with you, this kind of wider Indica-looking leaves are kind of normal with the Sexbud. Some phenos of this strain shows these kind of specific features. So is not so rare to get large Indica-looking leaves.
And the other plant you had sounds like an interesting one too, is kind of resembling the typical structure of this Sativa dominant genetics.

Thanks for the description, it's actually really interesting also because of the fact that the pain-killing aspect of the Sexbud was not something I knew about.

Anyhow, is not a super strong strain. The high is normally really stimulating from many point of views, and it keeps really alive your mind.

Once again, I am really glad that you were pleased with this genetics, it menas a lot to us since Sexbud is one of our favourite strains.

All the best,
Mr B.

Well, I need to correct my prior comment. I smoked some of my cured Sexbud yesterday and with a slightly different effect than I had before. Don't know why, maybe the curing has had a beneficial effect.

I can agree with Satyros, not much body high, but I disagree that Sexbud produces "no" body high. There is definitely a body high there. It is light and uplifting. But mainly this strain gives me a head high when smoked, and now what I really liked -- as opposed to my earlier sampling -- is that the head is clear and active, not impaired.

This is just to set the record straight, I earlier had a feeling of mental distortion when smoking Sexbud. I did not experience that again yesterday.

Greeetings all.

I apologize for the confusion; after harvesting, I'm convinced our half-eaten second plant was not Sexbud. It had no grapefruit, it was very pungent, and you get purely indica stoned from it.

And yes, it might be a bit misleading to say Sexbud has "no body effect"; I'm just trying to find a way to emphasize that it didn't carry any of the familiar stoned feeling, and that its keynote is so much stronger towards the brain, that it was basically unlike any other cannabis I have experienced. It grows uniquely, and it works either uniquely, or like a limited number of other strains that I don't know.

I won't risk saying the pain relief would handle extremes like broken bones, but from what I was told, it was good against general aches at kind of the bruise/strain/minor arthritis level.

Many thanks for the work in developing this lovely plant. Most "new" things in the world are completely uninteresting, but here, there's a kind of success that's quite refreshing.

Hey Sat,

That half-eaten plant was probably a special plant, a goat looking for an Indica stone

Yep, I understand your point and is quite clear that Sexbud is normally going towards a mind stone, which is the main trait of this strain, but it also involve some body stone somehow. But still, is quite of a relaxing feeling, no stress at all.
Obviously the pain-relief is subjective and in any case not so strong since is not a real medical strain.

Thanks once more for the kind words, we really appreciate that growers are impressed with this strain, as mentioned in my last post Sexbud is really the result of fine breeding/crossing since we really looked for something special, recognisable and perfumed enough to convince people to try it.

Hi guys,

just stopping by to add my input on the sexbud and white grapefruit.

WHITE GRAPEFRUIT
I first grew the white grapefruit when it was available in recirculating dwc during summer under a 600w hps. Pulled off around 280g dry. Plant was over a meter tall with gigantic buds. So big I got some mold and lost like 20g.
The taste was intense grapefruit, tropical fruits. No skunky-ness at all. High was one of the strongest I've ever tried. 100% sativa, no stone, almost psychedelic. I had a high tolerance smoking many other different strains at that time. That particular phenotype was ready in 80 days.

SEXBUD
I grew the sexbud once in hydro and once in soil. Ended up with two phenotypes.

Hydro
The hydro one was a very sativa-like plant. Stretches a lot. Buds looking like small clusters. Not the typical cannabis bud. Covered with resin. The buds were literally silver because of the trichs. Low-to-Medium producer
The smell and taste is really where this pheno stands out. Vineyard PEACH. I was also growing actual vineyard peaches outside in my garden and the this pheno smell and tasted just like that. Quite a surprise. No grapefruit, no pineapple, nothing sour. Just straight peach.
Powerful sativa effects.

Soil
This pheno tasted like Pineapple. Dense buds. Fast flowering. Not as much resin as the previous phenotypes. Sativa effects.

Ima grow her again soon and hope to find peach pheno hehe

Cheers

Hey SG,

Thanks for stopping by and for your feedback. I personally highly appreciate your opinion since you got my favourite Sexbud pheno, the peach one, one that you cannot easily forget...
Sexbud ranges from Pineapple, passing through Tropical fruit and reaches Peach flavours too, basically she swings between many deep fruity variations, which is what we like the most

Anyhow, thanks for the interesting info about the White Grapefruit. It looks like you got a nice production. About the mould...well, yeah is kind of tricky with these varieties, they are susceptible to humidity related issues...also Iced Grapefruit can have these problems if not well cured or checked.

About the Sexbud. The Hydro version is the so called "improved version" of our C99, super high resin production, flavours/smell/taste out of ordinary indeed and fast above all.
It seems like Hydro helps getting the best out of the Sexbud, I will remind this, it is an useful suggestion.

May I ask you how was the high compared with the White Grapefruit? I am quite curious since Sexbud is a direct descendent of the White Grapefruit and C99 And last but not least, did you ever had the chance to try our C99. I think you would not mind at all...

Thanks again for dropping by and for the inputs, really much appreciated.

All the best,
Mr B.
