SB is a good strong weed for solo use anytime. For me the head is not quite as clear as with PM. PM is a good anytimer because it gets me quite high without feeling mentally impaired or intoxicated. SB also has the uplifting energetic head of a sativa, but it also has -- compared to PM -- a bit of a kicker, a head stone that makes it fun. I feel less functional like that. It's hard to explain. |

I hope it will work right. We're getting our first rain in close to a month; so far, just showers, but next couple of days may unleash something heavy and violent. Since I've never flowered outdoors, I don't know how to estimate potential storm damage, or whether the plants might need protection. If they don't get beat up, it should finish well enough. The Sexbud has lost about half of its fan leaves, the rest of them are fading away, and the main buds have less new growth, more of it is established/aged. |

I checked it closely for more amber, and there wasn't.
What I did see is trichomes folding in half. I believe that says she is hitting her peak now. |

It could be subliminal suggestion at this point, but I, at least, believe, I caught the grapefruit distinctly.
And it looks majority milky now. I misspoke about the test puffs I took, if it's "in" week 7 now, then it "is" 6 1/2, so I tried it at 5 1/2. Nonetheless, I'm looking towards it as being the first among others in an attempt at a legitimate harvest. Possibly just let it dry out for a few days and finish it at a full 7 weeks' flowering since the pistils started. |

Sat sorry for not replying for these past days, I was traveling and am in a new location, where I had another grow going. Outdoors and a more or less guerilla grow. Had to deal with budworms for the first time.
I wanted to mention my Sexbud is almost too strong for me to smoke. But when I vape it, it is just exactly what I like. Not impairing, just uplifting and energizing. So, have you done the chop yet? |

Budworms, yuck. Never seen that; almost don't want to know what it is.
I'm going to try to get her last little bit of sunshine today, pull it indoors, and axe it really late or early in the morning. The poor second plant isn't really doing any additional flowering, it will probably just ripen what little it has in a couple weeks. |

Sexbud end-of-season sampler. 7 weeks of flowering on 6 weeks of veg. Minus a tester, it gave seven decent golfball sized tops, or four tops and three good branches.
There's about 10% amber on the sugar leaves, most other trichomes are cloudy, some of them bent over. Definite grapefruit scent when the plant was isolated, but it doesn't reek, an actual grapefruit is probably stronger. |

Hey Styros,
Just wanted to drop by to give some help and suggestions. But I do need some info...Could you help me understand your current situation? How many Sexbud you have? How many weeks into flowering? And how is everything developing? And about the heavy rains...you should not worry too much, Sexbud is quite of a strong strain, normally the stem seem small but in the end is one of the hardest you can get. Hope you are enjoying this variety, it's really a special strainer all of us. Looking forward to hearing from you, All the best, Mr B. Quote:

Hi, thanks for the consideration.
The first plant turned out pretty well. I only have one more Sexbud. The second plant grew differently, a little bigger. Unfortunately, when it started flowering, our goats ate half of it. It is still alive, but it mostly stopped producing flower clusters, and it looks like it's just going to ripen what was left on it. That one is about 5 1/2 weeks into flowering. Some of the popcorn from the first one dried; in just a few days, it burned normally and lost all the terrible taste in a "quick dry" method. And the buzz really did change. We find it goes right to the brain. It has no body effect. It's like a gentle escalator ride going up, with oil poured into the brain, and being polished by silk. It's the opposite of a headache. Modest mood boost, kind of like a St. John's Wort or something. But there is no rushing, whooshing, speed, giggles, or anything like that, it's still pretty calm and clear. |

It is really interesting to read your impressions, I could have written that one myself! Nice to hear that your first SB turned out well. Are you thinking of growing this strain again? I recall you had quite a diverse portfolio of sativas...Bud worm... no you don't want these critters. It's a 2 cm long caterpillar born from eggs laid by a white butterfly that settles on the uppermost buds as they are flowering. So they aren't everywhere, but if you get them early you can remove them. I pulled many out while harvesting, and others left the buds as they were drying, since they only like fresh green stem, not dry, so they make an exit. I managed to salvage enough bud, so no huge loss, I had so much more bud growing than I could ever use personally. I don't think the budworms are a health hazard to the smoker, but there are those who would probably disagree. Still, those white butterflies during flowering are something to watch out for and I would have gotten rid of them but this was a sort of guerilla grow and I wasn't there... Thanks for the smoke report. How did the goat food turn out?
