What should we look for in selection when growing for dry sift?

hi Illuminate, interesting thread idea, personnaly i think of easiness of sifting i mean yield of resin sifted ie resin tenacity and at the same time quality( trichome type, cannabinoid profile and level if possible, terpenes contents and level if possible) , aroma, taste and quantity(yield) of resin produced by the plant and persistence of aromatic principle.
im wondering if trichome size is related to resin tenacity. Sirius |

Narrow leaf or Broad leaf or Hybrid?
Obviously the holy grail is subjective. |

Broad leaf drug variety who have already been selected for hashish production are easier but you can create your own narrow leaf drug variety for hashish if you prefer. Do we clasify moroccan variety as Broad leaf drug variety ?

No, moroc is thin leaf.
The main thing is high quality buds , covered in resin. The buds with an open structure/ foxtails are easier to sift. Leave them for 3 months to dry/cure and you will have Some great sift.

thin leaf that what i thought, i was assuming all cannabis variety selected for hashish production were broad leaf drug but i was wrong, leaf shape don't seems to have something to do with hashish production in the end, at least its not linked to the resin tenacity.

Glad to see I'm not alone. ![]() Thinkin mack 10 nailed it on structure. Personally, i would, for the most part, ignore structure while focusing on quality of finished product & terpin profiles. imo, A difficult task without an excellent mostly stabilized line to start with. |

Maybe I should have added goals for a dry sift plant too. Like what to look for in a hash mum.
