I think I remember reading somewhere that if you screened some trim over a peice of glass you could then tip the glass sideways and the plant material that went through the screen would fall off but the glands would stick to the glass. Is this true?

Yeah, it is a quick technique. Not much in yield or purity, but works fairly well.
