Yea Jack.... Rep for the haiku. Big time.

Let's see if I still have it.

I have no clue where we are going, but it's gonna be a fast one.

I'm in a multitask mode. Most normal people take things one step at a time. But this ain't exactly a normal job. Far from it, in this trip everything can come at you all at once. And when it happens, you better be ready to haul ass.

I'm not gonna waste this,
This opportunity's mine.
I'm sick of complaining,
About a beautiful life.
How did we get here?
Did we forget all the things inside?
And how do we stay here?
Do we embrace all the things denied?

Pavlov proved what we already know. Animals, of which we are one type, will react to a certain stimilus. Ring a bell, reward, eventually when that bell rings.... Well? Where's my damn dinner?

It's called pushing buttons. And we all do it, it is a human condition. Reward and punishment. Some people though are so intrested in other peoples' buttons, they don't bother to do a little self examination. Should they bother to look inward, they would soon realize that their very own buttons can be self manipulated, and once this can be done.... motivation becomes much easier.

How did we get here?
How do we pretend everything's alright?
And how do we stay here?
Do we erase all the fear inside?

I'll tell you right now what floats my boat. Finishing a shitty job. And if you are in for a dime, you might as well put in for the full monty. I don't want one job, I want ten! And I want some stupid impossible to hit deadline, better yet! Fuck it! Throw it all at me, and I will do little bits, after little bits, and absolutly hate it, until we get a tiny bit past the halfway mark.

At the halfway point, the button gets pushed. Not one, not two, but a LOT of shit all gets done, all at the same time. You see the end to all your problems (I know that's a lie.... don't kill the buzz) right about the same time, just before that stupid deadline, but it served it's purpose.

That's where I am right now. Scogis are trimmed, almost dried, and spoken for. A little under two lbs, and a couple of ozs of really good oil? All done.

So take me,
But go slow,
Let me hide somwhere I know.
And let this,
Seed grow,
Until we finally call this home.

Remember when I said stuff falls off the truck outside my house? Well a couple of months ago one did. No, the truck fell out of the truck. Only problem was.... well, I got what I paid for. Word to the wise. Never buy a truck from a Samoan. The big problem was it needed a new clutch. Add that to the list. That got done today too.

And yes, of course it's a Toyota.

It'll be Legal by Thursday. Truck worth ten grand cost me three. Score one for the cheapfuck. Hopefully it will move....

Next up? A flock of Skunkdog plants... finally. A couple like this poor example, grown in exhausted soil on the Winter side of the gulch....

After the Skunkdogs, which I am looking forward to trimming, comes a flock of Gogis. Not looking forward to trimming them.

Like sugar and cyanide,
These worlds are going to collide.
I want to yell it from the roof tops down.
Until it's over,
And we're older.

Now, I see our esteemed, exhaulted, eminent, exciting, Peanut Galley has paused here to share some words of wisdom.....

What say Ye?

Wait one. I thought by now we'd hear from Grey, explaining how his trimmers busted yet ANOTHER of his really expensive bongs. Remember that one that looked looked an AK? That didn't last long either.

Chunky.... If I has some Jack seeds I'd plant them. But I don't. And if the sap is flowing, Spring won't be far behind.

Kalo.... that's the problem. All the choppers except the DEA's Puma are leased from private companies. Just because a bird is low it could be doing 50 different things, not envolving our trips. It's kinda like pornography.... you know it when you see it.

Dawn.... That be some rot! I had some too. Until you live in a humid place, trying to grow there, it can be a challange. But when it comes together, ain't it nice? Like your indestructable bong too.

DB.... Sunday night it dropped to 45 here. Shit you not. Three dogs, three blankets, still froze. The fuckin cold is turning the Gogi Purple! I hate Purple! We had a bit more rain, the damn front sat on us for a day.

AS.... Maui has the only Krispy Kreme in the State. What can I say? Unless you come here, your right. They ain't bad. You should have seen the place when it first opened.

And Casper.... I know you have staff to handle those messy little jobs like trimming your own.... now so does everyone else. Sorry, I haven't chucked you under the bus lately, so I just did.

Spring harvest

Took down a Skunkdog and a Galactica. I like how things finish up this time of year. Does your skd run in the summer? Mine tend to get less poddy and more hairy.

Switching over to Chem D and OG for the long days ahead. Stay dry up there. I hope pau the Kona storms.

Ulua season around the corner.

Aloha,
Bandit

Skunkdog

Galactica

Ok... I'm not doing epic tonite. Noboby gets chucked under the bus. We'll try a nice gentle drift instead.

You ever hear the expression; low hanging fruit?

I wonder.

Is the fruit at the top of the tree any better, any sweeter, than fruit from the bottom of the tree? An an old acomplished fruit thief, I can tell you, the fruit from the bottom of the tree is a lot easier to steal, and you won't break your neck if you fall out of the tree, or catch a load of rock salt, when you're inches off the dirt.

No, Low hanging fruit? Perfectly ok with me. With that tonite's music could be called Low Hanging Fruit.

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day.
Fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way.
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town.
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way.

What? It's not like you can go wrong with this.

Speaking of a dull day, tomorrow will be one of the first seen around here in a long time. Since I know they don't fly Sunday, we just give everything another day, so nothing will be taken until Monday at the earliest.

I feel sorry for the kids nowdays. They won't be able to scream their dirtbike across a newly planted Pineapple field, cops on their tail... and NOT get caught. Now everything is fenced, and pineapple is dead. They won't ever hotwire a bulldozer, point it toward a cliff, then set her free. They won't ever get to collect prawns out of the ditches, or hunt the land that we once had open to us. They will never make love on the beach at noon, or fish until we ran out of equiptment, or just got tired of catching.

No, this is the new Hawaii, catch it now before it slips even further away. They bottle it, they turn it into an "experience", and sell it to the highest bidder, milking every last penny out of the ride.

Are my hands clean?

Fuck no. I played the game. There are times where you get onboard or get left behind. I'm not good at this, but you gotta change with the times. Yes, I bought and sold little pieces of this land, and profited. I'm as guilty as anyone.

Tired of lying in the sunshine, staying home to watch the rain.
And you are young and life is long and there is time to kill today.
And then one day you find, ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.

No, they never tell you when to run. But it gets kinda obvious when the pack shifts. But they don't also tell you the race is long, and not won by the guy that breaks from the pack first. No, he usually gets made an example of, don't be him.

They also don't tell you the race is a SHAM! There is no race unless you want to run. In every situation, there exsits an option, one of two possible, do something, or do nothing. Doing nothing is a perfectly acceptable thing to do. We all know , I bet, a few people that should have exercised that particular option, and suffered when they didn't. Never be afraid to do nothing. I'm living proof of that.

And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking.
Racing around to come up behind you again.
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older.
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.

That's one way to look at it. But your still buying into the old life is a race theory. At the end of the day EVERY last one of us is one day closer to death. BFD. It's a race we all lose, so why run? To get there faster? I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but that makes no sense.

When your young, you may hear the age old question asked, Which of the two will win? The immovable object, or the irristable force. And you can give it some thought. As you get older, the answer becomes crystal clear. With time, and remember, in the big scheme of things, we are here but for a blink of an eye, the irrestable force becomes a little thing we call time, and the immovable object doesn't stand a chance. Time grinds it down, scours it off, it never sleeps. In two shakes, the immovable object is mere dust. Just like everything we are, and ever will be.

Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time.
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines.
Hanging on, quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say.

You know how I like these to end.... we got loose ends all over the place.

It ain't as bad as all that. Change is inevitable. But life is NOT a race. It's ripping across a newly planted Pineapple field, cops in persuit, and getting away. It's watching a bulldozer falling into a gulch (statute of limitations, long passed on that one), then watching them recover it. It's buckets of prawns, and hunting the land where Oprah now lives. It's making love on the beach at noon. It's all of that shit and more, so much more, but it is not, and never will be, a race.

Life is a pile of ice cold lychee stolen from the Japaneese farmers tree. It doesn't matter where they came from, top or bottom of the tree. All that matters is you take as big a bite as you can, because you won't be comming back this way ever again.

Life is NOT a race....

Unless....

You want it to be.

And I will be happy to let you win.

Ok guys, take a breath, enough garbage.....

Deep thoughts from the Peanut Gallery tonite.

Country.... Say Grey's Galatica, it looks nice, gonna give it a shot if he is still talking to me after the DT incedent. I grow Skunkdog year round. In Summer it will go almost 90 days ingroung and yield a lb a plant. I don't know if it was you that saw last years crop of Skunkdog, but it was great, and it finished in a week of rain. I can't afford NOT to grow it. Year round.

I have a few Chems and Valleys and Sour Double going in not this round but the next. Come Monday, take cuts and restart the machine. My partner has finally busted open his freezer, so there may be some olds style Sativas going as my plants from seed.

Maybee....

Casper... As you saw she NOW be running. Clear the grommets off the rocks when school starts, we fish!

DB.... Three words that send tremmors down anyone that turns wrenches.... sheared exhaust stud. Took up longer to drill that out that to change the clutch and polish the flywheel.

My first jeep was a 1979 Suzuki Jeep. First year they came out. Thing weighed about a thousand pounds. I would smoke way bigger trucks in two wheel drive on the soft sand. That thing would float anywhere. But if it rained, you got wet.

hooooooooo boyz
how zit
checking in
still experiencing trauma after the trimmers busted the custom roor i was given by my friend zoolander

sadness has turned to happiness though, as it seems the roor may be in fact repairable...
and the guy doing the repair seems interested in doing a custom tube for me
so as one bong crashes another rises up
maybe waaaaaaay up
well see.... i am pretty excited about it though.

oldhaole.... the dutch oh the dutch...
look, the dutch is what the dutch is. its like wine coolers being served to hard drinkers. ha! but.... as a wine cooler... you have to admit its a killer wine cooler. a bountiful wine cooler. its cup runneth over with fragrance and yeild. 2 plants in 7g pots put out to flower in later january and harvested end of first week of march putting out 15z makes up for its horrible deficiencies that which we decry especially she we dont have to keep it and theres those out there willing to take it all. sucks to be us hahahaha

the galactica... what did you and the mechanic think of those buds? I'm pretty impressed with how it grows. nice golf ball like buds. very mid rangy smell thats got a haze base with a kush top end if that makes any sense to anyone. thats what i get. stoney bologne too. but curious what you think let it rip

90 days! Holy shit!!!! that makes sense though.... Bandit and I seemed to notice that she starts "going long" about mid june and it carries thru the summer. Dutch responds like that too. Not sure about the galactica guess we will find out hahahahaha

lets go fish!

The Joys of Doing Nothing.... and Living to Tell The Tale

Maybe it was luck, but I don't think so.

Should I have moved, just a few short feet, my wife would be a widow. Should she have survived. If you really want to get morbid, and you know me, right about now, the cops should be leaving the scene, and the road should be reopening, a few hundred drivers inconvienced, with a cold dinner waiting. Happens after every fatal accident.

Depending on how far I moved, it would be my blood, some other idiots' blood, some poor other schmuck just waiting in line, or some combination of the three, already hosed down into the gutters, tomorrows Maui News reading

"KULA MAN KILLED IN REAR END COLLISION".

Unlike most of the shit I get into, this one wasn't even close to my fault. All it was is a quick trip to town. Wifey rode along, on the way down the hill, I flipped on my blinker for a left turn, and waited for the traffic to clear.

First car up yields to me. Signals with her hand to pass in front of her to make my turn. Wifey says "Go, she is letting you go". While wifey is saying this, the lady is inching toward the shoulder, and I stop.

Not a concious decision, What I was seeing didn't make sense. It didn't look right. I froze. Could be, and probably was, the fact I will never do what my wife tells me to do. It's all a question of exactly who is fucking the donkey. When she tells you to go, and you go, bad things happen.

Maybe it was the look of horror in her face as the black SUV passed me on the left, between us, nose down, ass up, at a good 60. That SOB threaded the needle so close he was able to take DNA samples from both of us, but not a touch either. An absolutely amazing save, to a situation that should have never have happened, should he have been paying attention.

If I would have moved forward, left, five inches, he would have kissed off of me, straight into that poor woman who almost killed my wife and I. If we would have moved five feet, well, RIP Mr and Mrs Oldhaole. The rent a beercan I'm driving won't survive a T-bone.

Instead, we all sat there for 30 seconds, thanking the various powers that be, everyone gets to go home. Wifey was, admittedly quiet the whole way home. You might even say... Speechless. When we got in, safely back home, she asked why I stopped, when clearly the other lady was yielding.

I could have, and probably should have lied.

"No baby, I was watching the whole thing unfold in my mirrors, we were never in any danger. He wasn't going that fast and he missed us by miles".... but I didn't.

No, I wasn't smart enough to follow the same advise that just saved both of our lives just a few short minutes before. Do nothing. Instead, I told the truth. If I listened to her that time we would both be dead. As a rule, I will almost alway do exactly the oppisite of what she tells me to do, that's basiclly a no brainer. And if past experience is any guide, a good rule of thumb.

That, while being technicly true, wasn't why I stopped.

All I can say, honestly, is it didn't smell right, and I did nothing.

I'm doing that too right now in the garden. In an outdoor grow like this, each sunny day a gift. Last Wensday was the hump week. Should they have flown last week, and paid me a visit, bad things would have happened. Now it's too late. This week is another of the reasons they don't fly in March. Kuhio Day falls square in the middle of the week, this month. That gives us this whole damn week, until Monday morning at the earliest to keep everything growing over this sunny streak. There are ten plants ready to go by Monday morning. Or if the rain falls, whichever happens first.

Problem is it's all spoken for, and the sooner I can bring it in, the sooner I can let it go. This whole weekend I will be sitting on my thumbs doing NOTHING. If I started taking now, the trimming could be spread out in a more managable way. Fuck managable, let them get fatter.

Grey is suppose to come up here tomorrow with his decent camera, then he can put some shots up that don't look like shit. until then, these crappy ones will have to do.

The green plants in the forground are Skunkdog, the purple behing are Gigis. This setup did not work out well for the Gogis. Planted too close together, rot is involved.

The gulch looking down. Notice the edges are planted, but the big planters have yet to see any action? That will change. You should see a plan taking shape.

Just an average Skunkdog, ready for the chop. Yields have almost doubled since Winter. Get close to six here.

The last Scogi. I have more seeds, the only knock against this plant, and it is a big one, she yields light. I let this one go an extra two weeks. See if that adds anything to the final total.

This could be the future. One of the final wave, strangly show the most potential. Again We have lots more seeds.

This weekend looks to be a dead one.... no pun intended. Probably more tomorrow, until then, it's back to the doghouse with me.

And you are young and life is long and there is time to kill today

Glad your still here to post as I was reading your story, my general rule of thumb came to mind half way thru .

If ever me and the mrs are out and about on some aimless journey. If the need for navigation arises I look to her and say left or right ??
What ever her direction of choice is , I immediately go in the opposite direction.
Works like a charm even with her heckling in my ear " this isn't the right way"

I have been in 3 car accidents all of which involved me being plowed from behind ( leaving the door open here) 2 of which left me in the hospital
I know has a normal reaction to always be in my rear view upon having to break fast or stop suddenly .

Sure seems to rain a lot in paradise
