ready to bottle

Everything is going great. It's had time to finish fermenting and has started to settle and clear up. It looks dark in the image but it's deceiving. I added a bit of fresh yeast and 0.1oz white sugar per bottle to carbonate them. back in 2 weeks with a taste test.

time to drink

So, Here it is.

Looks nice, smells ok, tastes.... alright.

Everything about this beer is ok except for having roasted some of the malted hemp seeds. They smelled a bit like burnt pop corn before i put them in and they really imparted a similar unpleasant burnt pop corn flavor. otherwise. not bad. I encourage others to do the same. I've never liked any of the commercial hemp beer's I've tried but I don't think it's hemp's fault. Thanks for following!

Maybe no toasting.

A cold smoking would be interesting though.

Thanks for sharing!

Nice experiment! Great color! Try to show us some head next time

I agree with architect, maybe no toasting.. Leave them as natural as possible =)

I'm planning on adding cannabis leaves to my next brew (for aroma, like dry hopping) , will definitely report here.

Thanks! yeah the head disappeared by the time I got an acceptable pic. It could use more time to carbonate and I'm sure it would improve with age.

Cool, I read on a brew forum about someone using stems for dry hopping and Its always been in the back of my mind to try. Let me know how it goes and I might have to finally do it too.

I wonder how using nice flavored buds instead of or in conjunction with hops would turn out?

also maybe use the cannabis malt as just part of the grain recipe with other grain malts. maybe use a toasted barley to achieve the dark color, and not roast the hemp malt.
