Any one have a pic of a banana hiding out in female flowers? I need to know what to look for in a bad way.

FORTUNATELY I don't have any growing to show you right now.

Until someone pops in with a picture, here's the best description I can give.

You know what a normal pistil (white hair) looks like now, right? Well once you get to know them, bananas are easy to spot. They get their name because they are usually yellow when ripe. This alone stands out against a green and white plant. The bananas are shorter (usually) and thicker than normal pistils, so even if they haven't turned yellow yet you are looking for a fatter, bulbous little plant part that juts straight out from amongst the pistils. Color will range from green (at first) to whitish and then yellow.

If they have turned yellow, I assume that they have viable pollen and are therefore a BIOHAZARD to the grow; so my technique is to spray the site of the bananas with water to neutralize the pollen, and then pinch off the bananas with my thumb and forefinger.
