Victoria Clipper *and* Gold Rush **Test**Grow** RedEye Genetics
Victoria Clipper is (Princess75[jack herrer bagseed backcross]xOrtega[NL#1xNL#5]) and Gold Rush is (Alaskan Thunder Fuck [unknown genetics]xOrtega[NL#1xNL#5])
this is my thread to document me finally getting around to popping these seeds a year later. sheesh. i was having some issues with popping seeds this winter and only one seed came up from the first batch. it was a lone VC male which i collected pollen from, i watched it to see how it grows and i like it do i kept it to dust my other girls with, I popped my last 6 seeds and 5 came up. 3 Gold Rush and 2 Victoria Clippers. The remaining 2 Victoria clippers looking like they're more sativa than the male. still in veg nothing to see so far. they've been in these pots...lemme check my notes...6 weeks. gonna be in here a couple more weeks, then i'll pot em up and veg em a little before i have room in the flower box. really short guys next to a 1 liter water bottle. these be the Gold Rush. really small plants, very indica i can tell. they're all very resilient. i had to leave them unattended for 10 days with no water and when i came home they were still alive. a little thirsty but alive. that was actually just 2 days before this pic. anyway just starting a thread for me to forget about for a while. i'll update when i get closer to flower. |

VC #1 tall skinny [roots] VC #2 shorter with wider leaves [ortega leaner] VC #2 [roots] VC #2 [roots] VC #1, #2 nothing to report really. transplanted the 2 Victoria's since they were getting large, they'll most likely be the next ones in. the Gold rush are staying pretty short [ortega dominant] so i should be able to keep them on ice longer. no sex yet i don't think. more later. |

So here we are...however many weeks from seed an i have ended up with a total of 3/4 males for the Victoria Clipper the 4th seed didn't pop. And on the Gold Rush i have 2/3 Males and 1 female which has been in 12/12 close to a week now.
the males were both those victoria's pictured above and in the first post make 3. all 3 Gold Rush Girl left, lanky male middle (jury's still out since it didn't show 100% confirmation) Bushy male right. GR Girl left, bushy male right. they are almost identical plants and would probably make good f2's to stabilize the short /fat leaves/ indica trait. all 3 from the top. i'll have more are there's things to report. |

so we're at the end of week 2 flower. or at least that's what it's gonna be today.
nothing to report, branches branches, pistils pisting, and leaves, leaving. everyone seems to really like pretty leaves so heres some. get em while they're hot. cold...whatever. it's gonna get crowded really soon and these leaves are gonna get uuuuuglaaay! top side. side view. the branches are going nicely and approaching a 3rd tier, the top hasn't stretched much, since i transplanted from that tiny pot 2 weeks ago and put into flower it has grown maybe 1-2 inches. it was easy to gauge since this plant is directly under the bulb. no burned tips = it hasn't made "first contact" yet lol. close up of the top and the pistils. till next time. |

thought i'd throw up a pic of the males and a quick update while i'm at it. might be the last time you see em.
the Gold Rush males. still in the original 4 inch pots i started em in. they're troopers. they look sad because i've been feeding light to flush out some excess. These are the Victoria Clipper males that are left. in cutoff 2 liter bottles. green one is chempy. was gonna do a side by side if they were girls. Here's all 4 together for a side by side. the chempy is heads and shoulders above all the rest in the same amount of time and same nutes and same environment... for the most part. had the VC in the veg tent like 3 weeks longer. popped into the flower tent for a quick snap. Gold Rush week 3 flower. |

End of week 4 beginning of week 5. nothing much to report. seems to have slowed down a little, also looks a little pale. trying a new nute GH maxigrow to replace the micro in my lucas formula style recipe. gonna bump the mag a little if i don't see improvement in a week. no smells to report, just a faint sweet smell. trichomes just barely visible on the leaves closest to the budsites. hopefully will improve. this is the only girl i have. upgraded from my previous 100w mh to a 300w hps. should help fatten up the buds over what i would expect from the 100w. till later. |

thanks for stopping in and the kind words Nico.
Lets see i believe this is the end of week 5. starting to pick up some, and i'm getting a smell. i'm not 100% on it yet since it's still kind of faint. but theres a fruity green apple/ sour apple type of candy smell i'm getting and i'm really really diggin it so far. hope it comes out very pronounced later. She seems really happy and considering that everything in my tent is getting the same food she's taking it better than everyone. got 3 plants that are starving and 3 that are burning on the tips from too much. but this one is right in the middle and happy as a lark. So far this plant is real sturdy and definitely a hard mode contender. Starting to frost up. Nice close structure. Branches starting to branch and the bud clusters are really dense so far. |

47 days. starting to really fill in and frost up. has some wonderful smells coming off her now, i call it a sour apple kiwi type of scent with some piney, lemony hints behind it. real complex. very sticky too. got a touch of nute burn somewhere between the flushing and the new nutes i started giving a couple weeks ago. but aside from that she's been very trouble free, i just look and make sure she's staying proper amount of moist and not too wet or dry. she likes the nutes more than everything else in my tent. looking forward to harvest. |
