Decent LED grow lights in the UK?

OK, so.. Was hoping that someone might be able to point me in the direction of a supplier that sells decent, tried and tested LED lights that will stand the test of time.

I'm a bit of a newb with LED but am pretty interested in it's benefits over HPS.. I have no idea about brands etc so if anyone has experience with some of them please post it up..

As the title says, anyone know who has some good ones?

The Mars 2 range on ebay are very good. I have a couple of journals here in this sub forum documenting my grows with them.

ive used LED's for a while now but only one brand which is HydroGrowLED. they are not uk based (USA) but you can order them and they get shipped from china. Ive always found them to work very well but dont realy have comparison to other brands. Their customer service is great and the odd problem ive had has always been sorted.

LED's are one of those subjects that seems to bring out the haters, so i usually keep away from discussions about them.

you can save a bit on power used, perhaps 20% or so, also possibly slightly beter quality weed, more compact plants, less fire risk, less heat thrown at the plants from the light.

I just had a quick look. I was quite surprised at the price of these lights in comparison to other LED units. Possible there are cheaper Mars units I didn't see on ebay. I'll have a more in detailed look later.

This company seems to have the monopoly (or at least that's their claim). Looks like a solid build and the warranty on them is fantastic! I guess that's all reflected in the price. Thanks Verdant, this looks to be a promising suggestion..

Another suggestion given to me was Grow Northern which is a UK company. They also make branded lights for Dutch Passion (not that that means anything).. I've read a few reviews of their units and it seems there isn't much bad press around them. Build quality looks good and their warranty isn't too bad either (although shorter than HydrogrowLED).

Anyone had any experience with these?

yeah im sure there are some good uk companies.

you liking the mars ones are you herb? i was looking at them the other day they are pretty reasonably priced i think.

its not rocket science to knock together a decent unit so there should be plenty about. i think that up to a point, you get what you pay for with LED's

I hope you're right. I don't mind paying a premium but would rather get the most out of my pound; who doesn't..

With emerging technologies there will always be some companies cashing in while others are passionate about their products and put a lot of work into R&D.. Of course it's a point of cutting through the crap and learning yourself about what actually matters about the product.

It's good to know there are some who have solid experience with what their using. Thanks for contributing. Since I'm on a budget I'll splice up the results and see what I come up with..

I really wanted to try leds for summer because its so hot I effectively cant flower anything with hps. that's like half the year not flowering anything. it sucks. my question is how cool are they? are they comparible to t5s etc or are they still pretty hot?

My Two Mars 2 Leds worked Perfectly when i Had them Up & Running,One a 1200watt and the Other was a 900watt.Tighter buds! Carefull tho.. Adequate root growth beforehand is a must or the Plants will Fry

the 1200w pulled 540 watts and the 900w 340 approx!
