wiring up a light is this safe ?
hey icmag i have an old star light i want too use for seedlings..
the mains wire was broken so i had too rewire it but i had too rewire the earth wire too a nut on the light as i didnt have any washers in the pic with red part on it is this safe ? pics below.. the light works but i didnt want too touch the shade just incase lol thanks for looking |

haha the light is fine but the missis nearly took a heart attack as i said too her
i need too see if this is live so when i touch the shade turn it on at the wall so when she turned it on i let on with a loud scream and body shake as if was being electrocuted...haha qualty |

You should be fine PF. Just make your equipment ground is attached to the metal frame of the light.
