red hairs

to get a vague idea of when the plant is ready should most/all of the hairs have turned orange or should it be like 50/50 orange white or what??

you really need to check the trichromes. The hairs grow new whites even when just about ready for harvest, so they wont really tell you when. I use a little hand held microscope $10-15 from radio shack and they work wonders. You want to cut when the trichs turn cloudy.

Hairs mean nothing. At all. They have no corrolation to potency, or ripeness. Forget the hairs. Look at the trichromes. Take a sample smoke it see the high, do whatever you gotta do man!!

If you get one of these radioshack scopes take a look at the red hairs. The gland on them arent even that big. The hairs are just pistils.(basicly) If you seed your plant, just figure every hair is 1 seed. Provided it was pollinated.
