D-papillon test with The White, Darkstar and Triangle OG
Well a change of grow spots has meant a change in lighting as the old Mars 2 LED is too noisy for this spot.
So it's the old 1m tent with 6 inch isobox acoustic fan and phresh carbon for extract. Passive intake. Standard nutes for coco substraight. H&G range plus canadian express sup potash and headmaster. So on looking for lighting fixtures to use, I was gonna go with the lumatek 600 w 400v dimmable. But then I was talking with Adam from Thseeds about the cyboptics 315w fixtures he now uses and loves which reminded of the UK equivelent. The d-papillon 315w fixture. Rrp £499 which is a lot of moolah for a 315w cmh. https://epapillon.com/index.php/fixtures/d-papillon But luckily I found someone selling off all their stock at less then trade price. So, I purchased all 6 lights. 5 of them came with the 930 bulb or Agro bulb and one the 942 or daylight bulb. I have used both 942 and 930 bulbs in this tent to mix up the spectrum. The lights have the highest par output going apart from dimluxs version which pips these by a tiny fraction but they are even more expensive. So, we have 2 315 lamps. One agro and one daylight. The Triangle OG plants (2 of) are super slow to get going so I have put two into one 12l root pruning pot. One Thseeds Darkstar ( purple kush x Mazar ) in a 7 lt root pruning pot. These plants were vegged for around 5 weeks under a standard 250 w cfl. As you can see the difference in vigour between the darkstar and triangle. Then there is the white which was a mom kept in a 1lt pot for a while and cut back a few times. I hate flowering out moms but she isn't too old so we shall see. So let's have a look at some shots. Day 14 today. You'll note the temps are very nice considering the room has no intakes, a slowish outtake which vents directly into the room the tent is standing in. As you can see, the forward lamp is the daylight 942 bulb. |

Dark star.
I did a wee cut back on this before flower. About 3 days before. She has so much vigour. She now fully occupies 1m x 50 cm all to herself. Completely full. |

The White at day 14
She is looking ok so far. Needing a little more feed. Which she is now getting. I'll cut a lot of her away in the next week so I can try to concentrate her energy into fewer larger colas rather than a million tiny ones ( the reason I hate flowering mother plants ). Triangle OG. This is an interesting one. Takes an age to root and get going. I mean ages. And she certainly can't keep up with the dark star hence two in one pot. Got a stretch to her, but I def feel these 315s are helping control stretch what with much less far red then an HPS |

Day 21 update
Thanks for all the kind words guys.
So far I'm loving these lights. Great spectrum, unbelievably bright for such low wattage. I've not grown any of these plants before but I'd hazard that they are stretching less than normal due to the lack of far red as using cmh. Same feed as before except now dropped root excel and have full strength HeadMasta and half strength Sup Potash. The tent day 21 Dark Star day 21 |
