When will the people at female seeds come and answer our questions?
I think its high time the folks at female seeds come to thier forum and discuss all the hermie problems that some people are having. I am currently growing the c99 and I have nothing but good words for them so far. I'm jsut getting concerned that when I flip I will get herms.
Who else is with me? one of my c99 |

Your plants will be fine, Having FST come to the forums won't change the outcome. I have grown their grapefruit, currently growing c99, and Grapefruit x Neville's haze. These are at 42 days of 12/12 and not one ball insight. Mr. Wags has grown all their strains, and has only had 3 plants I believe develop into "Hermie." C99 is a easy grow, takes abuse well. I am really surprised when their are reports of hermies on their strains. I am sure they have happened, but yet anyone is yet to see a pic displayed of a legit herm.

I do think there have been hermies the main reason is why? I currently have 4 FMS strains running right now and will on this thread just like the others post updates for all to see. I can say this tho, I have a friend, a very respected and PUBLISHED grower who took some of the same beans I'm growing right now (cinnamon,wwxbb,c99) and he tells me 2 weeks ago that he got 2 hermies and go figure as you will see I have NONE but if he said it's a hermie well it must be a hermie. So as you guys know I will only say what I know which is very little lol same beans sprouted the same way from the same pack and the only difference is location,so you be the judge: WWxBB C99 Now I will add I've gotten a few pic pm's and have seen good plants put down due to a few balls and I sadly had to let them know if they would have picked them off they would by now be enjoying the fruits of their labor. My 2 Cents Again Mr.Wags The big issue: hermaphrodite encounter Your highest concern is: what’s the chance of a hermie? First of all, what is a hermie? A real hermie is a plant which creates 50% male flowers and 50% female flowers with hardly no bud formation. This is possible in all seeds, just as much in regular seeds as in well produced female seeds. It's part of nature and happens in very rare cases. All of our seed batches are tested for hermie’s before they are released on the market. Seed batches which have proven to be unreliable are destroyed. Deviations which are uncommon, but possible in female seeds are a few (mostly sterile) male first flowers on the stem of a female plant. After removal of these few balls, the plant will grow into a full female. Hence 99% female seeds. So, what is the chance of you getting a male flower? It’s like the chance of getting involved in an accident whilst driving your car, there is a tiny tiny chance of coming across a male flower in female seeds. To be on the safe side people these days wear seatbelts to protect themselves during an accident. We would also like to recommend growers to protect themselves from being unfortunate enough to come across a male flower. Therefore our recommendations are to always watch the stem of your plants in the first few weeks of flowering. For some strains the chance of a male pre-flower is lower with a longer vegetation period, while other strains are not susceptible to this at all. Each strain states a reliability rate to advise you on the chances of a male flower in that strain. (see strain descriptions) Taking these kind of precautions, besides your usual input will guarantee you a successful and happy grow. And by being fully informed this way, will give you more confidence in working with female seeds.

Thanks mr wags! I jsut wanted to hear from the fms spokesperson, not that it would change anything. It seems customer service is on a quick downfall from the days of BOG (one of the main reasons I came to this site) , I have stuck around because of people like you who always help when needed. I am not really that worried yet, but when the bananas start flying I would like a vendor to at least address the problem, and help with a solution.

Hi Admiralcornport,
Here we are again after being away on a short break. There's no need for concerns for hermies on your C'99. Our C'99 has successfully been on the market for over 6 months now and all from the same batch. If you do a search on this forum you will find all the reports on the C'99 which are mainly positive. Remember, this is a forum where everyone can write what they wish to write. At the end of the day it's your own experience that counts. Hope this helps.
