Blue velvet?????
I recently aquired a Blue Velet mother. If my memory serves me correct I remember seeing it as part of DJ Shorts delta 9 collection back in 2000. If anyone can confirm this it would be a great help, thanks.
Stay Safe -DespiE ![]() Update June 15th!!!!!!!! Well I just got back from seeing her and I snapped a few pics! Kinda tired so I have to make this short. The blue bucket is on of those tuppermaid containers for size refrence. She seems to be growing great and loved the ab I gave her 3 days ago. She is 3.5 feet tall. Well I have to goto bed cause the girlfriend is calling. So long.......... Stay Safe DJ Shorts Blue Velet, just loving its life Another money shot....... Greetings,
Blue Velvet, if I remember correctly, is about 75% sativa with trademark 'foxtail' buds and an energetic high. Check out DJ's breeding articles - they might have more info. Cheers Leopold |

This was my fav from djshort and I really wish he'd bring it back. Dj labeled it as 50% sativa but to me as far as high is concerned it had a more sativa buzz than the flo or blue heaven. It had the most wonderful odor that smelled like soil from a pine forest and tasted hashy. It made fox tail buds but unlike most foxtail sativas the buds were among the densest of the blueberry series. It was very consistent from seed every plant looked like a clone. The tops of the leaves were always green but the backs were always solid purple with purple streaking in the calyxes. From seed it was a top yielder also producing narrow single cola plants that produced 1 1/2 ozs each in a 2 gallon bag but from clone the foxtail structure wouldn't show and the yield was much less.
Please please please pollinate this one with a good afghan or something and put them up for auction when seedbay opens back up. I'll get a pack without a doubt. Writing this has made me miss it and I wish I kept some males so I could've made some seed. Since I had lost all of my cuttings a few years ago. |

Also I only ran one cutting outside with my first outdoor grow ever and the purple cam out very nice and the yield from cutting as a large plant was much better than as a small plant inside. But I imagine from seed outside it will be amazing.

Zamalito thanks for the info!
I grew Flo back when Dj short first released it and was very impressed so I would imagine that the Blue velvet is as good as you say! Also I am very confident that She will be huge because when I got her so was about 2.5 feet tall by 1.5 feet wide. I took alot of cuttings off her and she has been in the bush for about 2 weeks now and now she is like a little bigger then 3 feet wide by 3.5 feet tall. The hole I dug was 3 feet by 4 feet and the top 1.5 feet of that hole is triple mix. I gave her 11 litres of AB and water last night. With regards to crossing it, all I have to cross it with is: Mighty Mite, Gurrila Gold, and the strain I made by crossing White Widow with GG and I call it White Gold. It has turned out to be a more White Widow predominante strain. If none of those what would you recommend? Pics this friday June 10th

Can't wait to see the pics. I'm sure the mighty mite cross could make a really nice outdoor. I only know guerilla gold is an early outdoor strain. I don't know anything else about it. If its true breeding and you like the buzz I'm sure that would be good. Ideally I'd cross it with a good mexicanxafghan, afghan, another dj short strain, or a top notch mexican. But as long as your using a good bh female and a good male it'll be good.
