Question Is there a way to bring out the sweetness?

I have a plant from a cross i made that had the exact smell i was hoping for early in flower, Blueberry Hubba Bubba, but as it matured it started to get less sweet and more chemical smell.

I am wondering if there is a way to bring out the sweetness more, or if this is just the way the plant grows?

I know it might change after drying and curing, so i will see then, but i am also interested hearing what people think.

Thanks.

This is common. Awesome smell half way through bloom then as it finishes smell changes or goes away. What this tells me is that the genetics have the flavor in them im looking for and to fix the problem is simple. Sprout more seeds until you find the keeper that keeps her aroma and has mouth coating flavor as a finished product.

Thanks Pro Headies,

That plant was in the last seeds of that cross i had.
After drying i noticed that the sweet blueberry bubblegum flavour was dominant again.
The resin and structure isn't as good as i would like though, so i will try to make some S1s.

Take care.

backing off the lights later in flower so less terpenes get burnt off might be worth trying.

It's a little awkward asking the sun to go to bed early.

no u do it late flower during the flush.. back off the lights while flushing.. allows for the plants to retain terpenes..

in late flower outdoors.. the sun gets weaker.. and weaker.. so whats akward bout that? lol..

we as indoor growers are just trying to provide a controlled outdoor environment INSIDE lol...

and VG is well respected.. his advice is exactly correct..

I wasn't rejecting his advice.....

I thought he was meaning give less hours, rather than less intense light, my mistake.

I'm growing outdoors, why i said i couldn't control the light hours.
