Backcross question

Hey I was hoping someone could answer a stupid question for me . I am a novice chucker but like to correctly name/ Id my work. I always list the female parent first. I am working on my third "chuck". I crossed a male ox plant with my female flo mom to get Flo x Ox . Then I grew out these F1. I kept one each of the F1s a male and a female. I am going to cross these two sibling to make the F2 gen. I am also (at the same time) going to back cross these f1 (flo x Ox) to each of the parents the flo mom and the ox dad. So if I cross the Flo x Ox to the mom it would be Flo x Flo x Ox or is this referred to as a "BX1" ? Will the backcross to the dad ( Ox x Flo x Ox) also be technically called a "BX1" ? or is this designated differently ? What is correct way to call / label these ?

Flo x (Flo x Ox) and (Flo x Ox) x Ox. Both are Bx1. In some circles they could also be called F2’s but I’m more from the school of calling F2’s the matings of F1’s.

Ive talked with dj about situations like this. So when u backcross u can label with the bx if u want, but he always considers any cross a step forward in generations. So while ur back cross can be labeled with bx, dj would consider it a f2, if u then back crossed that first bx again, he would call it f3. But to keep it clear in ur notes u can labels with bx, and bx2, just know uve moved it forward to f3, from what dj has explained to me.

So if I hit an F2 with one of the parents of the F1's the resulting plants are F3/BX
is that what he says?

So glad I don't breed for a living, lol. Shit's complicated sometimes.

Is there a standard labeling breeders use?

It's hard to find any standard in cannabis, let alone in breeding.

I don't know that he would label it that way specifically, just that he would consider it an f3.
