breeding objective
newbie question: I know that you have a goal in mind when you start a cross. My question is do you usually get there or change directions because of good unexpected characteristics, or do you usually junk it and start with some other cross?

HARRY´S SENTENCE
Breeding is like life itself,
You know where you start, You never know where you will end. PD : I´m just a pollen chucker, but I´ve got nice inspiration from my pollen chucking lol. |

I recently moved to an area where I can pollen chuck outdoors and can't wait till spring to try out some crosses, I like variety and surprises in the garden so I think this will be right up my alley

Agreed with everything said. Yes sometimes your cross will come out just like you imagined, and then in the same cross you will find something you never dreamed about. Sometimes you are disappointed with results (negative traits being dominant sometimes), and sometimes you wonder how such a beauty can come from a happy accident

First, I only use the best genetics to start with or its not worth it. I want potency, yield, a reasonable flowering time, and awesome taste/smell. For example, I chose to cross headband with kimbo kush because they are both super potent with tons of taste/smell. Just popped the beans now and very optimistic

Don't be a quitter. Keep hugging toward those goals.
Unexpected findings can become detours, alternate paths or simply the beginning of a new project. (there's never an end to shared projects & marketed genes, imo) Only reason I can think of to junk a project is due to undesirable results. Lots get shelved in case a return to that pj is desired. |

I was going to ask the same thing! Every time I try to write down my path I get side tracked by a new cross lol!
