How to tell if I have s1's or not?
So it finally happened... Accidentally left the flower lights on for an extra 6 hrs so the girls got 18/6 for a night (about 4 weeks in). Two plants grew dicks and possibly sprayed the others... those got chopped. The other plants were flowered out but had seeds. What I'm wondering is, how do I know If the two hermie plants sprayed the whole room or did the other plants just seed them selves? With that said I'm hoping to find something special in these. So far I've pulled about 20-30 beans out of a huge yeilding Wifi (Sour OG was the hermie).

Only growing the seeds out will tell: an F1 (Sour OG x WiFi) will likely look somewhat like a mix of both parents (maybe a bit more to one side or the other), an S1 (WiFi x WiFi) will likely be closer to the WiFi (or the parents thereof). Problem is, both have OG in their ancestry and are likely not stable (and hence show a huge variability in their offspring, no matter what). There may be some 'markers' (clear distinctions like a special smell, leaf shape, branching etc.) allowing to tell the Sour Diesel and The White apart?
With some luck, the 20 seeds suffice...

Was that a sour og from cali connection? If so that's more likely the cause lots of his gear I've grown hermed badly. Leaving the lights on an extra 6 for a day isn't likely to cause herms unless they're extremely sensitive strains. I've done the same thing several times and longer than just a day without herming the girls out. Hell I left the timer in the on position going from 12/12 to 24/0 for a week straight halfway through flower before realizing and still only one plant hermed. Was surprised actually.
If u running those again I'd keep a close eye on them. As far as noticing what seeds are what... you cut them all down already? If a plant seeded itself a close inspection of the entire plant should reveal nanners somewhere. If already chopped look closely at the buds you should find nanners somewhere. Most likely the 2 that hermed pollinated the other plants. |

Thanks guys. Indeed the Sour OG in question was CC's '818 headband'. Super sensitive for sure as none of the others had nanners that I could see. I'm actually flowering out another 'sour og' this round but I'm now worried it will have more hermie problems down the road, even if the light schedule isn't messed with.
Scrappy, thats awesome that you left your light on for that long and barely experienced any problems... sounds like strong genetics. Makes me want to ditch the CC pheno's and just move on... |

Yeah I ran his Chem91 and it was herm central. 4/5 females were so bad I had to toss'em. The 5th one didn't herm at all. Usually if it's not bad I'd just pluck them off. You could always just flower that new one out small so if it herms and you have to pick them out it's not that big a task.
