Gil, Don't cover with plastic after you have put them into medium, it will be too moist.

I have made the same mistake aswell.

Really, you can just put them straight into medium, but i usually put them into water until they crack aswell.
I think the paper towel and plastic bag is overkill, but whatever you feel happy with.

Ya, like everything else I feel like theres a perfect window, too shot or too long and it aint gonna work.. I like the tap root about a half inch long. Ive let them throw their shells off in the papertowel and then put the leaf above soil and the rest buried

I use fox farm ocean forest with no problems.. I dont water much for the first 10 days, just water bottle, that might have something to do with the soil not being too hot for them..

quokka I feel the same.. the only time I will put plastic over is when a clone just doesnt have enough roots to holdup without being in the dome..

with mine i wait till the tails are out, then sprinkle over them loosely with moist coco so that they can breath. ive found some white crosses quite slow to sprout but not all.

Just had some success with 5 new seeds (including a single Elmer's).

FFOF as the medium, with a .5" of seed starting mix on the top.
Water the medium thoroughly PRIOR to planting the seedling.
After the seedling is planted, no cover, and only use a spray bottle
to mist the top of the soil. Barely cover the top of seed, not even .25" of soil.
This has worked for me almost 100% since I began doing these steps.

Everything else is exactly like Relentless has outlined for me, except
I scuff all seeds now prior to them going into the shot glass of water.
Some Bog seeds I tried earlier did not crack, and scuffing was recommended,
and it worked. Now every seed I start with gets it.

Pretty quick..All have dunked their helmets.. At this point Ill stop using the spray bottle and go to the turkey baster.. I dont water the soil before putting the seed in the soil but its a good idea.. if you dont, you really have to stay ontop of the watering with the spray bottle or else they will dry up quick.. i run a 192w 2'x2' t5 about 10-12" above soil at this stage..

Im going to try and keep this thread up to date through the process..
Just topped all of them back to the first node.. I put these seedlings back under the t5 to slow them up. I plan to let them grow out, take 2 clones and throw them in the bottom of a flower chamber to sex.. destroy males.. keep the clones of the females and run them next with some other keepers..

Also, while Im at it I thought I would throw in another veg pic to explain my training preference. A lot of people have asked me to post pics of things like this. Like I always say, I try and keep it stupid simple.. I just top once and then bend the branches till I get 4-6 nice mains and then prune everything else back and stuff a bunch of girls in a small area that way ya get a lot of tops and it makes trimmin easier, which I hate lol.

O.V.OG's 1st top.. usually I will do later

Training pics(other girls).. This is where it starts.. top and bend
