Hi outhereinthesun,

I think scai received seeds from F4 Kali China lines if i'm not wrong.
F4 KC lines 21 and 22 are the ones i selected from extensively to produce the newer Kali China F5 version, as explained in more detail in page 13.

I'm not sure what DP stands for (maybe durban poision?), anyway Kali China is already quite inbred and stabilized, and it's a very interesting and useful breeding tool to produce good hybrids, like our catalog reflects lately. I have made successful african x KC hybrids like Congo x Kali China limited edition recently released again.

Welcome Jammal, thanks!

What we have released is a Nepal Jam (nepalese/jamaican) x Kali China limited edition:

https://www.aceseeds.org/en/strains/l...ichinafem.html

It's a selected nepalese dominant F6 Nepal Jam parental plant, very early flowering, very resinous, with great creamy aromas and terpene quality, and very pleasant smiley effect, pollinated by our best Kali China F4 parental plant.

Thanks for your interest Anjey,

The method we use to reverse is with STS, which is the more standardized product used in the industry to reverse the sex in cannabis plants.

Regarding process to avoid hermaphroditism in breeding, it's not different than when breeding in the traditional way with males .... I like to grow the selected parental plants that meet the breeding criteria as many times as possible .... indoors, outdoors, in many different environments .... until i get a wide perspective of how the selected parental plants perform, plants that show hermie traits in the testing process or don't fit the breeding criteria are discarded, only the firm ones and better ones are used for breeding, but basically the testing process is the same for both kind of seed production: regular or feminized.

Kali China Breeders Pack

A Kali China feminized Breeders Pack has recently been released.

https://www.aceseeds.org/en/strains/b...ckcriafem.html

In this feminized Kali China Breeders Pack, we offer you the 4 best F4-F5 lines we have ever bred, result of the intense plant breeding work we have done with this strain in the last 3 years, using multiple different lines and a lot of parental plants, in order to bring Kali China to an even higher level of quality and stability.

Description of the different feminized lines available in this Kali China Breeders Pack:

- Line 21 (F5): This line produces hash plants of excellent resin production, compact size and very fast flowering (7-8 weeks). Outstanding creamy and incensey aromas and flavors, very refined and complex, with tropical fruits (ripen mango), touches of peach, hash and grilled meat. Very pleasurable, clean and euphoric effect, with unusual sativa qualities for a plant of hashplant indica behavior. This is the line that in our opinion produces the plants that best come close to our ideal of Kali China and is probably the most refined terpene line in the entire ACE Seeds catalog. This line was started from the female F3 Kali China 21: an elite female F4 (Kali China 21-4) was selected from its offspring, which was revert to pollinate the best F4 sisters from the same line and generation, thus following the stabilization and improvement of this line by inbreeding until the final F5. Perfect balance between the best traits from the purple Chinese Yunnan hashplant pheno, and the touch we were looking for from the old Kali Mist.

- Line 22 (F5): This line produces very similar plants to line 21 in appearance, flowering time and complexity of terpenes and desirable effects. Overall it shares with line 21 the fruity and incense aromas and flavors, highlighting the hashy/earthy terpenes and touch of violet petals, but with less creaminess and less presence of mango than line 21.

- Elite F3xF4: This line combines the top 2 'elite' F3 and F4 parental plants in a single line. In order to do this, we revert the elite mother F4 Kali China 21 - 4 (best F4 parental used in the last stages of breeding) to pollinate the elite F3 Kali China 6 (main parental plant used in the reproduction of the previous version of Kali China). This line is very similar in quality of terpenes and effects to line 21, although on average it produces larger plants, with a longer internode length, bigger yields and a slightly longer flowering time (8-9 weeks), due to the strongest sativa influence of the F3 mother.

- KC 21 - 4 (F4 S1): Self-pollination of the best F4 parental of Kali China to bring you the closest genotype to our best mother of Kali China. This line offers the best and most refined resins, effects and terpenes of line 21 in only 7 weeks of flowering, but with less vigor and yield due to the inbreeding produced by this type of self-breeding.

Feminized lines available in the Kali China Breeders Pack (5 feminized seeds / per line):

- Line 21 (F5).

- Line 22 (F5).

- Line Elite F3xF4.

- Line KC 21 - 4 (F4 S1).

Some of the hybrids are new, others are improved versions of hybrids already released before as limited editions. We have:

Zamaldelica elite F1 x Kali China F4 fem
Congolese (long flowering) x Kali China F4 fem
Panama Goddess F10 x Kali China F4 fem
Nepal Jam F6 x Kali China F4 fem
Bubba Kush x Kali China F4 fem
Thai x Kali China F4 fem

The Zamaldelica, Bubba, Panama and Thai hybrids have been produced for the first time, while the Nepal Jam and Congolese hybrids were released past year as limited editions, although these newer versions of the hybrids contain KC F4 elite instead of KC F3 elite. The Nepal Jam mother used now is also an improved F6 Nepal Jam while in previous release the mother was a F4.

The improved versions will be released in the upcoming weeks as limited editions again, while the new hybrids will need to be tested first. We will keep you updated
Hi Dubi,

Can you tell me about the Thai used in the "Thai x Kali China F4 fem" cross?

Also, while reading about the China Yunnan strain, it appears to me that it might be similar to the Burmese strain that I cherish and use in my crosses. Burmese and Bangi Haze are my two favorite strains to tame exotic strains to my climate. Burmese has a funky fruity aroma with some spiciness in the background. When dry, I detected a meaty aroma/taste that I have experienced in a Jack Herer cut I once had. I thought it would put people off, but many loved the overall taste.

Have you ever tried Burmese? If so, what do you think? Can you compare and contrast the China and Burmese strains?

Subbed!

Thanks,

ThaiBliss

Hi ThaiBliss,

Sorry, unfortunately i have no experience with burmese strains.
There are 2 type of refined terpenes in the China Yunnan hashplant indica: the creamy, sweet and sour and the hashy/incensey.

Kali China blends both types in a great way, and even adds more terpene complexity in the hybrid.

The Thai used in the Thai x Kali China fem cross is the new Thai Chiang Mai recently selected.
The Thai x Kali China F1 should work in a similar way to Haze x Kali China, i think it has the potential to produce very interesting SE asian aromas and effects.

congo x kali china

this one has the
narrowest- and darkest-colored leaves;
slowest to grow (a node behind others)...

i guess this could be a congo-leaner?
was congo #3 used?
may have to get a couple more packs.
100% germ on this recent pack.

saludos!

The outcome is less consistent than the Nepal Jam outcross but still quite interesting. Different phenos can be found, there's the incensey 9 week and compact more Kali China dominant pheno, and other taller more typically sativa expressions with strong african influence and more lemony/pine aromas. The african phenos take between 11-14 weeks.

All the phenos have great quality and high resin production.
Here's an example.
I'm curious, so is this hybrid a cross between Ace Congo and Kali China or is it a cross between a pure Congolese Hybrid and Kali China? The plants look stunning.
