photo thanks to Eighths & Aces from last round

The rules are *nearly* identical to last round; from seed only again and most importantly; roots must remain inside the container at all times.

This contest is open to ALL icmag members; there are NO restrictions at all on environment / equipment, only the container size and that plants must be from seed (once again; primary rule is roots must remain entirely inside yogurt cup at all times).

RULES
Read Closely

1) a 6 oz. individual yogurt container of any shape or brand. No substitutions. Keep the original label on there, please.

2) a seed or seedling of any Cannabis, male or female. Please specify strain/hybrid/breeder lineage in as much detail as possible.

3) each contestant can enter up to 5 yogurt cup plants (one plant per cup), but must choose only one to be judged.

4) There is no call for entries thread this round, so the contest will stay open to new entries the entire time. This thread is the place to post entries and updates from now until completion of the contest.

5) Your entered seedlings may be germinated or not at the time of entry.

6) All roots must remain inside the yogurt cup for the duration of the challenge and may require trimming. Any type of feeding is allowed, but if roots grow out the bottom of the container they must be trimmed immediately and not be outside the 6oz container.

7) Harvest must be no more than 20 weeks from tomorrw, that's November 30th. You can enter and finish ANY time between now and November 30th, but MUST be harvested with finished product pictures and smoke report by November 30th.

8) Missing 3 weeks without any update disqualifies a member, so keep up steady updates for the win.

Final harvest weights, both wet and dry, would be great, but not mandatory.

Showing plants against a ruler for reference, along the way and at harvest, also not mandatory, but would be super.

We will take and post weekly pics of our entries. We will all keep a good, fun spirit of community and sharing of knowledge and experiences.

Weekly update pics are pretty important let's all try to keep up, although if you miss one week, don't quit, just keep the updates as steady as possible.

Winner will be chosen in a separate thread containing a poll, posted after the completion date (November 30th).
Similar to other contests on ICMag, the voters will be asked to take into consideration all aspects of each grow AND the documentation of the grow as well, including but not limited to:
quality of the information updates
frequency and presentation of updates
quality of photographs and or videos
Explanation & details
Design of the grow
Strain review & information
Smoke report
Answers to questions about the grow
quality of the harvest

sorry Avi but i am gonna have to break the first rule with my first pic, but here is how i've been doing it:ying:

i wrap the yogi cups with foil tape to keep the roots in the dark. i heat up a screw with a torch to melt holes in the cup. FWIW the volume of the cups i'm using is about 5 ml larger than the "standard" yogurt cup on the left ........ i don't think 5 ml is gonna change the game all that much

the grow media is 100% coco, i use the cheap stuff. it gets hydrated with RO, wrung out, soaked and wrung out again until the ppm of the rinse water is below 100 ( first rinse with this particular brick measured over 1400. IME coco brick is never the same. if you don't have a ppm meter i would ere on the side of caution and rinse twice as often as you think you should ) whatever those 1400 ppm consist of i doubt that it is something the plants are going to like

after i get the ppm of the soak/rinse water down where i want it i charge it with some kind of buffer solution and it is ready to go

.

i'm going with some more free beans this round. white widow from 3 different breeders. i got one of them over 4 years ago, so i'll soak them in a 1/100 solution of Ful Power and see how things work out

ok, so u broke the first rule... how? cause u got 5 ml extra, that's like if you mound up the soil a lil but over the rim of the yogi cup... or because you put tape on the outside of the cup?
the point of the "leave the label on there" is really just to SHOW us all what brand of yogurt you used, which brand, and kinda to PROVE you are using a yogurt cup not some stupid keefir or a damn pudding cup. :joint:

good lookin E&A, glad to see you entered, im picking beans now and gonna prolly do coco or peat on drips fed by botanicare nutes.

Simple, he participates :D .

BTW, a real good idea with the tin foil!

I'll maybe participate... I have some Rosetta Stone x Ciskei soaking right now but don't know yet if they sprout due early harvest. It was just thought as a test germination but what's the harm of keeping them around in a yogi cup, right?

Hmmmm I actually might enter as well!! Let me see if I have any yogurt cups in the fridge but if I don't I'll pick some up. Sounds fun and need to kill time until I can set back everything fully so yogi with a led panel it is.

Next year would be sweet if you do a 8 ounce micro test because I use 8 ounce keg cups all the time for fresh cuts then go to 16 ounce and so on. But I'll get me some yogurt if I already don't have some.
