Thanks Frank glad you stopped in bro I'd definitely be interested in your input on male selection. I have a few more pics of some males that are in full blown flower that I need to decide very soon what I'm gonna do with. I'll be posting those up in just a few minutes.
Question: is there a reason you would go for a Carolina Blue leaning male over a Digi leaning male? Or maybe I read that last statement wrong. |

Well I think that's all of them. I'll be going back to this spot in a few hours so Frank if you or if anyone else wants to take a closer look at any of them just let me know.
Real excited about these. As far as having a favorite... TBH I really haven't had a chance to spend any time with these girls. Yesterday was the first time I've been there since the last transplant and a lot of them were still real small then. This last time I just wanted to take some pics and then I had to get going so really haven't had time to sit and admire any of them. But I think this morning I'll be able to do just that ![]() Most all of them except for a few have been sexed, so in the next couple days I'll be transplanting all the females into the ground and selecting males to bring back and collect pollen with. I'll probably collect from at least 2 or 3 males, I do want some diversity and to be able to test what the progeny are from each so I can learn more and gain some experience in selection. |

And that BB19 male is really nice as well...
I wasn't implying that going one direction or another was better or worse than any other. It all depends on what you want to do with the line and what you expected from it. In some ways, Carolina Blue was a hard plant to keep because she had very limited side branching. If you are growing SOG, that could be a great thing - but if you wanted to grow SCROG, the plant isn't really suited for it. One of the benefits, I felt could be gained with the Digi Bx1 male would be better lateral branching...and in reality, I'd consider that to be a priority...not only to try to increase yield potential but also to make taking clones and keeping backups much easier. But you can figure plants that are not wanting to branch out and are growing straight up are because of the mother... (like the male 19) You can also figure the plants with fatter leaves and more overlapping fan leaves lean more towards the Sour Bubble Bx2 side of the Digi Bx1 male.... But then there are plants that have more jagged leaves and better vigor and more side branching - those are more like the Digi... And then's there's all the millions and millions of in-betweens...lol ![]() dank.Frank

OK I've found my main man. If it turns out to be a male, which I'm almost positive it is, this guy is head and shoulders above all the rest. The stink I get off a stem rub is just epic! Blueberry funk to the extreme.
BB 14 I went ahead and got a good stem rub on almost all of them. Every single plant in the lettered pheno group was amazing. In fact every plant there had a real nice smell to them. The more Carolina Blue dominant ones seemed to have more of a sweet berry profile to them, and the Digital Berry ones had more of a dank pungent berry smell. There are some real reekers in this batch. But none reek like that #14. I couldn't stop thinking about it. I even accidentally labeled BB 13 as BB 14, right after I had just labeled it correctly.. And no I wasn't stoned. It's actually quite interesting that I mislabeled that particular plant, because BB 13 is my #1 pick out of the females. She also has a superb berry funk smell on the stem rub, and I love the lateral branching she has. This is the only plant out of all of them that has even the very bottom set of leaves branching out. Love it. So I think it's meant to be that these two gotta hook up. |

But there's another real cool thing about that male that I didn't notice until I got home and loaded up the pictures, and unfortunately these pics of him are a little off color and blurry, but the thing that really stood out is the extreme double serration on the leaves..
These anything like the ones you found on your saw tooth male? Anyways, I ended up cutting the tops off of 4 males that were already starting to drop pollen. They seeded some preflowers on several of my females. Took the tops home and I'm gonna collect pollen from each. And I took a cutting off of the #14. Whether it's a boy or a girl, it's coming with me. |

Unfortunately BB E is a hermaphrodite. He appparently pollinated himself, or one of the other males did. Culled.
