Ideas for Sativa Mom and Indica Dad
Hello ICMAG!
I am looking for seeds. My plan is to get beans in the next month and germinate two of the strains. I have a new space for this project. GOAL: to create 4 hybrids, and have as much seed to go through to find the best of each hybrid, and further breed towards desirable traits in the future filial generations. So I am looking for 8 strains. 4 sativa to seek females and 4 indica to seek males. I will start with two strains, growing 25-50 of each and find the best male and females, pollenate, and harvest the seeds for future work with the hybrid. Then the next two strains, etc. Once all 4 crosses are made I plan to germinate 500 of each hybrid, and make selection from there. That should keep me busy forever. The end goal is to have enough genetic diversity in those resulting seeds to breed in any direction I choose going forward. So the question I pose to you experts is, can you recommend some sativas for females and indica for males. Looking for advice on your recommendations as to the combining quality s of said recommendation. I would prefer males that did not dominate the cross, good combining qualities present yes, dominating no. Working with a Mexican sativa and Purple Urkel now for example. Idea I had not necessarily to cross to each but for breeding stock Panama and Maple leaf indica. The result of that I am sure would have some very interesting phenotypes to sort for traits. OK well any input is greatly appreciated! Thanks ICMAG! Les |

Ordinary hazy Sensi NL5xHaze x Sour Bubble is OK, did 6 of each sex last grow for seeds with as many ditchweeds. One was probably the most potent plant I've ever grown, and it would have been a good clone source for a low odor SOG. All her brothers pounded her repeatedly and some of their incest kids are sprouting now.

Sour Bubble is a great idea. I did not have that on my Indica list. Thanks!
Actually that would be cool to run both ways, I would imagine the outcome of either cross, Haze x SB or SB x Haze would be potent as hell. SB is good tasty potent pot, does anyone care to chime in on experience with SB males and their combining qualities? BOG perhaps? Lol Thanks for the input! |

Fuma con dios (sativa)
- which is one of Sam Skunkman's first hybrids with the original skunk number 1 as well. ORiginal Haze - 100%sativa with original haze bros genetic Panamanian Landrace -killer highs. Period. Honey B - is actually the Infamous Love Potion no.1 Attitude seeds says "top secret genetics" but tge good guys at Apothecary seeds say those genetics were stolen. Hence, still real LP1 genetics. Now for indica Deep Chunk - monkey balls by Hazeman seeds is a pheno of Tom Hills Deep Chunk. Deep chunk is more of a breeding tool. Fir its crazy trichs. Power plant - another breeding tool plant. Great all arounder. Great yielder Space Queen - another indica breeding tool. Tga genetics gem. Northern Lights classic indica strain for breeding. |

Thanks for the info johnnyseed!
I have never looked into Space Queen. I always heard the potency wasn't there on sub cool strains. What makes Space Queen a good breeding tool? The Honey B is interesting, I'll have to look it up. Thank again IC! |

Has anyone worked with Satori? I am curious as to the results of any crosses folks may have made and what Satori lended to the cross.
A friend had a very nice sample of Space Queen, it was ok, good flavor but did not provide the high. I of course dont know for sure it was SQ but I know he had a few packs of seeds, saw them so guessing it was a good sample. Is it the flavor that makes it desirable for breeding? I just didnt see it i guess, wasnt nearly potent enough to consider growing. Pure Power Plant, yeah one of the cheapest underrated quick nice sativa, good yield, rock solid nugs. This stuff ruins people. The tall pheno makes me feel 10 beers drunk, the wife laughs at me because i cant walk or talk after a few tube rips. Be cool ICMAG!

Hey Lester it sounds like we are like minded in goals for the future. Been working on the same deal and got about 400 seeds to test right now. Did a hash plant x my most cerebral Phantom cookies. Working on finding a haze right now. Got a few other really interesting things I am looking at. Maybe PM me or we could talk openly here for benefit of all. I am wondering what someone told you privately that was so gold. Breeding has been my interest for the last 14 years. I got the breeders Bible by Greg green (which now I know is mostly garbage) When I was real young. Stole it from borders I think. Been reading and rereading rcc's book. Glad to see others doing the same, not just profiteers and market manipulators.
