Revised Vertical Areo
Got the changes done from my first grow with this unit. I changed the sprayers for Misters 1 GPH, and relocated, now i have 1 mister for every plant instead of 1 sprayer for every 2 plants.
The Eco Plus 230 pump may have a high GPH but the preasure sucks, 30PSI was the best i could get from this power guzzler so I put in a Aquetec high output pump, its like 1.3 GPM which by its self wouldn't keep up with 96 misters so i added a 20 gal. bladder tank, This worked out pretty well , so now instead of running a 9amp+ every 5 min cycle , I run approx. 1 amp every 4th cycle. with this setup I can maintain 60PSI on the high side and 40 PSI on the low side of the cycles. I was pushing out 80 PSI but I had a problem with line leaks so I reduced my preasure and now all is well. These plants have been in the system now bout 5 days, the roots went from just a few sticking out of the rw cube to busting out all over. Some of the plants looked to be little over watered so I went from a 1min. on 5 min. off to 20 sec. on and 9 min. off. I keep an eye on these and see how it goes, Im sure as the plants get bigger I'll have to go back to 1 min on and 5 min off. |

Better boy...You are my hero! Fantastic design, I wish we saw more true aero setups using diaphram pumps. Where were those leaks? I might be able to recommend a good tube/fitting system. The only thig that I don't like about aero in tubes is the limited root area. You end up with a well oxygenated NFT once the roots hit bottom, but that's not bad either.
What strain? Are you going for a GPW record? |

most of the leaks were in the take off from the 3/4" feed pvc pipe but even at the misters will give me a problem. Im using .170 inside dia. tubing. gonna change the 3/4" pvc to 1/2" tubing and use punch take offs next round.
My first round I got over 3.5 LBS. but was super dry when done , this time im going for 5 lbs. I dont really think it will be a problem. I have HDF/ Hog/ and MTT in this run, all heavy hitters |
