how to recycle hydroton??
hey i was wondering if i can recycle the hydroton clay rocks i heard you can clean them and re use them over and over again do any of you guys have any ideas how i can do this ??

A friend uses hydroton. He pulls out the big roots, then spreads it out in the sun or under a heat lamp to get very dry, rubs it vigorously on hardware screen in a frame of 2x4's until the organic stuff separates, falls apart & through the screen. Then rinse & re-use. He hasn't had any of the kinds of problems where he feels he needs to sanitize it.
