The Favorite Trimming Utensil Thread

Okay. So I am interested in the various utensils that everyone on IC uses for trimming their ladies. How about we all discuss what items we like, what particular technique we have for using them, why they kick ass, and where we can buy them? I think this could be interesting and save some people a little carpal tunnel syndrome.

I'll kick it off...

Since I haven't done much trimming because of lame situations, my favorite utensil is a pair of gool ol' fiskars sewing scissors. They were the only thing around that were better than bare-fingers, so hey...it's an improvement, right? My technique isn't too goddam involved (obviously). I'd cut out as much leaf material as possible, without cutting into bud. Why they kick ass is because...well, I guess they don't really. But they worked better than bare-fingers. You can buy them at pretty-much any large grocery store, fabric supply store, arts and crafts store, hardware store...pretty much any store.

Now I hope you guys can do better than my lame review of a lame trimming product (but it's better than using hands-only ). Let's see what gets the honor of beautifying your buxom buds...

Hello DR

Mmm sounds like the scissors u use are what i use..

Mine are sewing ones(With a nice point to get in close to the stem)
But they work opposite to a normal pair of scissors yes?
As in u close these(To cut somit)Buy Pushing your thumb and finger together?(As opposed to pulling them apart like normal scissors)

Lol k that got me confused trying to type and explain that(and there probs not even the same after all that)*grins*

Sometime(Depending on strain)I like to wear some rubber gloves(I wear rubber underwear aswell(But hey we all got hobbies!!!)
but aye the gloves mean u can stop half way thru, take the gloves off and roll a joint/make acup of tea(then put them back on)And back to work

Also one gadget i found(for hanging what i have trimmed)Is a cloths peg thingy(i am sure i have pics still of one)
There so so handy(and only cost about £1)
Infact they are sold in the cheapo stores(Poundstretcher/hypervalue so on(not sure what there called in other countries(i am sure we all have the shops tho)))

Main thing for me tho,Is make sure your in a nice chair(that suits u)Even with just 3-4 plants(is all i grow)It can take a couple of hours

I took a second and snapped a few pics for ya'll of what I use.

A thread like this might have helped me when I started trimming my own buds.

I've went through about 40 pairs of scissors before I found what I like.

These are BY FAR the best ones and they are only about 5 bucks at walmart (in the back of the sewing department)...they are exceptionally sharp, have a real nice precision pointed tip (very important for gettin deep in the bud to snip the small fans, and wont disturb the bud).

They are Titanium so its real easy to clean, and you get every drop of scissor hash when you scrape 'em w/ a razor blade.

VERY comfortable rubber grip that fit your fingers well.

They are ACME Titanium #13674 if anyone needs those specifics:

I also use these sometimes...but their tiny size makes the a bit tedious

same brand as above ...price is about 3 bucks:

Last but not least...my favorite manicure/trimming tool. When the quick and easy fans are chopped...I ALWAYS end up w/ these in my hand for giving my buds a final once over.

I never heard of anyone using tweezers before, but I tried these expensive "lacross" ones they have a nice POINT, and are great for plucking all the teeny fans that arent frosty in the buds. try some tweezers...you'll be surprised at how great they work for our task.

these came from Target in the beauty section ...cost about 10 bucks...but worth it for sure....If I only had 1 manicure tool ...theese would be it for sure:

well I hope that helps some...sorry the post is so long, but I think its an important part of our hobby.

heres a couple of manicured bud shots using these tools....these buds are TFB after a multi-month cure:

Also I find it to be much easier to do your trimming right when the plants come down...It's a lot less messy, and less damaging to the final product.

I hope that some good advice guys

Dr. Feelgood, you always deliver the goods and a smile to boot!

Yes sir, I also have/use the medium size sharp tip linen cutting scissors with the rubber hole finger handles....mine are blue/green Mundials 1864- 5-1/2" NS. I use the small ones to cut up the bud for smoking. I have two of each........pull apart tho

Then I have an orange floral spring action blunt end flower cutter that is real smooth action for cutting stems and branches. Probably could use it for trimming?

Thanks, sir.

I think I'll have to go get a pair of those fiskars microtip shears. That spring action would be easier on the hands and the pointy tip would let you get deep down in the nug. Nicer nugs and more hash can't be a bad thing.

Think I'll get a pair of those titanium soft-grip scissors, too. They sound like a nice counter-point to the microtips.

Anyone else?
