scam or winner?
ok i think i just won a bunch of shit.
this guy calls my cell and tells me i won a bunch of stuff. he says its from when i was at the mall and they got the cars there out on display in the hall and you can enter your info and have a chance to win it. now he says its from months ago but i dont really remember doing it (although i have done it a bunch of times just for the hell of it but that was like years ago) or maybe i just forgot i did it since im a stoner. ok he says that i didnt win it yet but im a finalist and they want me to go down to this place and i can get some prizes like 4 tickets + hotel fees to where ever i want to go( A-dam here i come). and a bunch of other things. at first i thought it was a scam but i think its for real. the guy was actin like i should have been like screamin or something and i was just talkin to him normally cause i was sceptical of the whole thing. so now he wants me to go down to this new hotel that just opened up because they are the ones that are promoting the whole thing. he tells me to bring some friends and we are going to be treated to a buffet dinner and then i will get my prizes. they dont want my social security number or anything like that. they just want me to go there and show 2 IDs to prove who i am and then i can get my prizes. so um does anyone see a flaw in this or do u also think im a winner.

ok the thing is he didnt call my home phone he called my cell and he had all my info. but heres the thing. he called me and called me by my nick name which i tell everyone is my real name. my real name i dont give out unless its for a legal document or something. if he just looked me up or something he would have got my real name not my nick name.

the fact u cant remember and the fact they want your 2 forms of id ,,either i d fraud or their trying to sell u something ,,most youll win is a travel voucher or a toy car
edit after i posted ,,i bet they know where u buy your underwear never mind your nick name ,,honest m8 if they wanna do i d fraud they learn everything about u re edit ,,the reason he wants your id is to get your real name if he only has your nick name Last edited by hazyfontazy; 05-04-2006 at 08:53 PM.. |

i doubt its ID fraud, they probably just will try to seel you something, like having a guy talking about his great real estate investments during the dinner, things like that are typical, though they usually target old people

ya but ID fraud includes your social security which they dont want and your bank account number which they dont want. and thats the only thing that im sceptical of is that i really dont remmeber filling it out. but the thing is i go to this mall all the time and ive filled out alot of these forms just for the hell of it so i really dont know the last time i did it.
ok heres what the guy just sent me in the email (not the whole thing i dont want to give out my location) “Four Roundtrip Airline Tickets.” Your vacation package expires 18 months from issue date and has a retail value of up to $3,524.00.
