Not only I-80 in Utah but also in Illinois, for the cops to go fishin for money.

Definitely Utah is a conservative state. Was he following all the traffic laws? Being pulled over w/ speeding, tail light out, illegal passing....it gives the patrolman a green light if he suspects or sniff's something.

Definitely say nothing and an attorney, pronto.

We can give several points of advice in this specific area:

1. He needs a very good lawyer, preferably one with a lot of experience working in the specific county he got popped in. Utah is a very conservative state, so hiring a lawyer that has a good working relationship with the local judges and DA is crucial to his defense.

2. Make sure he is clean ASAP. Squeaky clean. This will generally help his case and definitely will help when it comes time for sentencing. As soon as he can produce a clean UA, get one into his lawyers' hands... Same for hair follicle test. UA will show past 30 days, hair follicle 90.

3. Get gainful employment ASAP. If possible have employer write a letter of character reference to the judge.

People in similar situations have beat long terms in Utah... it requires a lot of money and a little luck though...

It's only because Utah like many areas of the world is controlled by totalitarian mormons who care about profit and care about ruling over others i hate utah and it's political leaders never read anything that is good on em if it's nothing to do about racism it's something about some new dumb law bein passed... I say tax the mormons and take their power awa and let the ppl of utah grow without mormons telling em no... Fuck U morons!!

Grew up in Panguitch, Delta, Murray and mostly When the family moved up from Columbus NM. Been smoking pot since drafted in 66 bringing it in from Arivaca AZ in the 70's 80's. Problem is one dont look LDS with out of state lic and bizarre center lane laws. Cant make a left turn unless marked gotcha. No undergarment what you wear once you been through the temple full body underwear resembles a tee shirt but not quite.. Bottom the FEDS are not going to prosecute not small of quantity and without able to sweat into more investigation and property to seize. My bet the Prosecutor will sweat all the monies possible and they know how much credit and assets the family has. force a plea bargain get out and dont come back.
