And don't be mistaken either - there is ZERO bad blood between RM and myself. I still have the same respect for him as I always have.
I try to keep the histories as accurate as possible - and unfortunately, that does include some "drama" from time to time for the sole purpose of factual accuracy. My purpose was not to focus on that aspect of things but more so to simply provide the information. The BKGK line is NOT dead. Retardo has said on numerous occasions he has considered releasing the further works from that line. That includes pheno isolations and the line having been bred different directions to emphasize the various expressions. I hold a silent hope that Retardo, does in fact, release that work to the community as he has said he would. Granted this has been a couple years now already, so who really knows his intentions. Again, I still have ORIGINAL Bubba x Grape Krush seeds from Retardo. I have many of his F13 crosses as well. I value that stock very highly as I know the quality and care that was put into the lines and breeding selections. Maybe one day it will be possible to work with those lines without any negative consequences. I can only hope. dank.Frank

Too bad about the drama man, with your touch on it some beautiful girls were let out into the community. To be honest though, I'm hoping you get back into the Blueberry work. I've seen and read nothing but excellent things about the Carolina Blue and Digi work, and who's mouth doesn't start salivating over some dank blueberry...no one, that's who

yup same old pics from the 400w closet of the f2 grow you may have seen a couple times around the site.
top pic is cody (cbdb f2 #3), second pic is cbdb f2 #6 (lost), and the nug shot was #4 (lost). the little thumbnail of the big plant is cody from a couple days ago. I'm working on flowering out the keepers again so I should have new pics in a few more weeks. I'm running 4 of the 8 females again and it woulda been at least 5 if the revegges had all survived. this is the sativa girl (cbdb f2 #1) currently. she's stacking like crazy!

Beautiful girls there, I can't wait to get back into my stash of CB/DB's. My one girl I had when I grew a few out before truly had the thick Blueberry Muffin terpenes that everyone is looking for nowadays like DJ's Pre97 Blueberry used to.
Peace, KF

Hey Frank, how's things going your way? I just wanted to pick your brains immense knowledge of the strain Grom Bx1's genetic wealth by Philthy.
I was curious what you think about how valuable the breeding would be in any of the nice male (or female) Grom Bx1's that I may come across in the beans I just popped, either by in crossing (essentially F2's) or some creative out crossings. The pedigree sure is nice so maybe a few thoughts from you or any experienced, established, growers of this strain that Retardo made the initial cross of, sure would be nice for me (as I think it's a strain that would be a shame to lose, even if it's just for personal exploration). I do still have a pack of original Grape Krush beans and the Pre98 Bubba, Blackberry Kush, Rasberry Kush clones among many others to work with. Thanks for any thoughts you or anyone may have. Peace, KF

Hey Karmic - GROM is a special plant. It has AMAZING resin output and a very unique flavor profile. She taste EXACTLY like white grape juice. NOT "grape" - but WHITE grape juice. Then there is an undertone of that slightly musty, dank smell that makes her smell more old school.
But - her effect, is very up. Very feel good. Energetic. Positive. Not creative or mind expanding - but an active, get things done effect. Phillthy liked Retardo's Grape Krush male obviously. He didn't want to stray outside of the flavor profile that GROM possessed and we already knew that RM's Grape Krush male DID through out true grapey phenos. It only made sense to utilize the GROM x Grape Krush as a parent line to build a backcross. When worked the GROM Bx1, he selected for the thinner leaves, branch growth profile, vigor, and of course, terpene profile - essentially, the most GROM dominant male he could find. The resulting Bx1 was REMARKABLY close to the clone. The only real difference was in the way the plants smoked. They had a bit more body to them - the effects were more well rounded - more all around. Phillthy, LIKED this about the Bx1 line...it wasn't his goal to create a replica for preservation, but to improve upon and add to without any sort of loss. That was accomplished. The GROM Bx2 was made to see if the resin content couldn't be increased further - BUT MORE SO - because GROM passed forward so many positive traits in the Bx1, why NOT see if a second iteration brought about more improvement. I might have some of the Bx2 left - but I know I grew out all my Bx1 - they were great plants. Smelt IDENTICAL to GROM. PS - GROM grows what I liked to call "dumbo leaves". Not because they were big - but they were FLOPPY. The GROM dominant plants have longer petioles and their leaves sort hang down like dumbos ears. I know - sounds like "huh" - but when you see the expression, it'll all make sense. ![]() I hope that gives you a bit of information and if I glossed over anything to quickly, feel free to ask more questions! GROM is a special cut. It's one of those I still scratch my head and wonder how in the world she never blew up. The work that Zoolander did with her (GROM x C99) and others was INCREDIBLE...that was when I first became aware of her existence...good 'ole Zoo. dank.Frank
