Ken's GDP seeds hermie? - Granddaddy Purp Genetics - International Cannagraphic Magazine Forums

Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone else has encountered hermies from the regular GDP seeds.
Purchased a 10 pack last year and decided to pop them. Of 10 had 7 def males showing sex in a week of switching to 12/12. Thought I had 3 fem left so not too bad.. a few days later while 2 showed a few pistils here and there, the 3rd had no pistils but I started seeing a few clumps of male preflowers starting to grow so ended up ditching that one.
2 weeks after 12/12 the 2 left seemed to be doing well, definitive pistil growth everywhere. But when I had a closer look, they too had a few clumps of sacks here and there. I've taken them off but from my experience if they show pollen sacks so early in flowering they go ape later on..
Have 3 other plants all cc deadhead og's which is what I expected to find hermies but are doing fine and Ive never really had any hermie issues before in the same environment.
Quite pissed as these cost me a fair bit for the pack.. So has anyone else had hermie issues with GDP seeds?

Neve had any problems. I did just finish CC jedi kush. Didn't end up good and this is the 3rd time running CC gear and I really like there quality/smell ect and 3rd time of hermies. And the nanners where hidden between the bud and stem. I could not figure it out for te life of me. Then when I chopped and trimmed I found the culprit. Kens gear is 100% more reliable than CC. Just me 2 cents.

Well after waiting out a few days I think they were female pods.. I've grown a few different strains before and these looked very similar to a male, even had a few clumps of it here and there but I can see pistils sticking out of some of them now.
Will post a pic if any more appear as I've got a close eye on em..
Good news is the 2 females left look identical like clones and are coming along nicely. Even looks exactly like the pics of it I've seen so appears to be very uniform. Hopefully find that nice purple pheno!

I know what happened a lot of the grape /purple strains take forever to show sex and they do look like balls but they are females I bet a lot of people without patience culled what would have been good female plants.

Hey bud, were the cc beans regular or fems?
My Deadhead OGs are looking to be some nice smoke, only 20 days 12/12 but already quite a lot of frost. Hope they don't spew out nanners later..

IGROWMYOWN: The GDPs actually showed sex really fast like within a week, fastest Ive seen actually. And coming along very nicely, will upload a pic once done!

Pretty sure I was running 18/6 for veg for about 4 weeks then onto 12/12, yeah it took 5 days to show 1st pistil for the 2 remaining females!
Are u running GDPs as well? I noticed they're out of stock everywhere I was hoping to get another pack incase I don't find a keeper.

I was I bought some last year around sept then I took a trip up to p2p and picked up the cuts of most of their strains candyland,GDP, phantom, I kept the the best male from the beans but nothing stacked up to p2p cuts IMO so I kept those. I should have grabbed medusa (candyland x cherry pie )but i didn't probably grab it on he road trip to the sf cannabis cup this year.

Fark I wish I lived in the states man.. I hear of all these elite p2p cuts you can get for like $50 from your local corner med store and I just drool. Here in Australia, you'd be lucky to be able to find any GDPs, the kush's to smoke let alone cuts of em. Just gotta order beans, hope they make it, then hope they grow out to be decent..that's a lot of hoping and usually a lot of disappointment lol.
