Re-post, I first posted this is the "Cannabis Laws" section.

I know the laws there are harsh, but I also know the country has a strong creative high-tech sector and my experience with creative high-tech is, Cannabis use is widespread.

At least it has been that way in Silicon Valley since before legalization.

I just emailed a cousin who owns a design studio in Sweden. She is not 'hippie-ish', I expect that she might echo the mainstream Swedish dogma when I ask her.


But I remember at one of the cannabis boards, some guy growing in Sweden with big, beautiful, Haze influenced buds, about 10 years ago.


Anyway, for anyone else with Swedish relatives, or any members who actually live there - what's it like ?

I'm wondering if it's like California pre-legalization - no big deal, not too many jack-booted thugs, just be discreet.

Jag vet att de lagar som finns är hårda, men jag vet också att landet har en stark kreativ högteknologiska sektorn och min erfarenhet med kreativa high-tech är, Cannabisanvändning är utbredd.

Jag undrar om det är som Kalifornien före legalisering - ingen stor sak, inte för många jack-startas ligister, bara vara diskret.

No it's nothing like that as far as i'm aware. Sweden is an odd place, even for scandinavians.

There really isn´t cannabis freedom, but many smokers though, it widely accepted amongst young people.
If you stay out of trouble it is fine, but not the best place for cannabis adventures in my mind. It depends what your looking for?
I would rather go denmark, if scandinavia is your thing.They have the best attitude toward cannabis. They even have a pusher street in copenhagen where you can support your local pushers..sweden is not going to be like that.. They understand swedish and english in most of the scandianavian countries so that should´t be a problem eighteen.

My cousin's design firm does very similar work to what I've done in Silicon Valley. She's more artsy, I'm more technical.

I wonder what it would be like to work there, what life in Sweden is like.


I'm definitely not looking for "cannabis adventures", just to live in a sane society.

I hear Sweden has most hardest cannabis-laws in EU. So not I am affaird.

Basically, if you're doing weed and getting caught in Sweden, you've got punished by social services and would have troubles with finding a decent job. So think twice.

25% of the the people in sweden are alone. Look at the Theory of swedish loove.

Sweedish people are pretty simple, and don`t like loong talk. Not everybody, but the majority of people there. More easy to find good "phenoes" in other countryes
