Blubonics from 2011 seeds
Noticed that there hasn't been any Blubonic shown lately and wanted to put up a few pics of my 2 girls going strong at 2 weeks flower. These are the last 2 seeds from a 10 pack bought in 2011 and were vegged in 18 oz square bottom solo cups. They autoflowered of course as did all the rest, even when vegged in 1 gal. pots. I know this is a great issue with some people, but my style and needs with growing actually work out pretty good with this trait, as yeild is a secondary concern. Have read that Blubonic is a cross of the BS 2.2 daddy and a popular Kootenay bluberry. Lots os threads on the BS 2.2 half but have found little to nothing on the Koot Blueberry mom. Bought these seeds at a time when few offering were around for Sweet Tooth, thinking something would show similar in this strain. 1 plant in an earlier grow had a slight grapefruit smell at harvest, but didn't last. Still a great smell and taste with a potent but comfortable high. KS

Very Beautiful Plant. Nice work! The colour contrast on the leaves is amazing.

Thanks Outdoordreams, yes it does put out some nice color in the leaves. This has been true with all the plants from this pack. Really have enjoyed this strain. I crossed the only male, very colorful, with a nice DP Flo mom I've had for a long time. Grown several plants from this cross, and seems to have eliminated the autoflower tendency with even more color as a bonus.

I got a couple of packs of blubonic around 2011 which have given me nothing but males or intersex females so far,I am very suspicious of their authenticity having grown other SOL gear in the past and seen/experienced the quality.
I'd be interested to hear what is 'proper' packaging for SOL,I bought sweettooth#1.1 in a silver sealed package which contained a black matchbox with spice of life seeds written on it and a colour spice of life seed catalogue,I am sure these are authentic.I have also got seeds in a baggy with a colour sticker on it with the SOL logo,I am suspicious of these ones which are what the crappy blubonic plants came from. |

Bought my Blubonic in August 2011 and they had a small sticker with the SOL Logo and the cartoon character on a plastic bag. I didn't have any over abundance of males, only one I think, nor any hermie problems with the plants I grew. Based on the plant descriptions given in everyone's posts I read, I believe mine were authentic.
Bigger seeds on the right are Blubonic F2's I made using the only male I had out of a pack of 10. I posted a pic in an earlier post of a plant from one of the F2 seeds from this batch. I did certainly experience the auto flowering trait present in this strain. But to me it's worth growing in spite of this drawback, just have to watch carefully and use bigger pots. Hope this helps Keif

Since posting this I discovered the guy/site where I got the seeds has an extremely poor rep. and ripped off several customers and suppliers. It sounds like I got at least one legit pack of the blubonic,or at least one legit SOL baggy/sticker.
I'll grow the rest of the seeds out and and see what happens.edited to add:I guess those seeds on the left look a lot like the blubonic seeds I have.Very little on the way of tiger striping/markings,the size is identical/similar too.I would say that mine look a little lighter/greyer but I'm guessing your camera has made them look a little darker. those f2's are HUGE! |

Hey Chron, The small seeds on the left are OH x SK1, Sam's freebies. If your Blubonic seeds aren't close in size to the F2's on the right, then they are not Blubonic. They Blue Satellite 2.2 seeds are almost as big.
