It will work all day long and it's probably healthier than iso or butane.You do it just like iso.Try to get the highest percentage booze you can get,like Everclear.Once you cook off the 40% alcohol in the vodka you'll have the other 60%,which is water,and that takes a lot more time and much higher temps to evaporate.

you can also add herb to a bottle of a strong clear fire water, close it up, and let it rest in a dark cool place for three weeks. drink a shot and wait 20 minutes, see what happens

wow I happen to do this type of work
we use IPA or Ethenol for extraction as well as a Reactor, decanter, desludger molecular still etc.
short of having a centerfuge u can still do a simple extract..I would suggest mildly rinsing with warm water before attempting. this will reduce undesirable taste
the introduction of heat in your extract process will give optimal results.
