got some buds a while back when i first started selling buds to smoke for free.. we smoked about an oz a day.. by day 6 or 7 of having this new batch of nugs.. the entire batch turned WHITE.. powdery mildew.. i think they steamed the buds to hide the powdery mildew until they sold it .. but either way. i got mad sick from those buds.. so i started growing.. now i smoke free.. and sell just enough buds to pay for electric and nutes and shit. but i only hook up my close friends.. no1 else actually respects GOOD WEED.. and properly FLUSHED. And Cured nugs.. so i keep my circle medicated and thats it!

Cool I grew some weed in the 70's

We did not know about sexing plants until 78.

Remember the Phototron? I still have one that works.

In the 80's I cut my hair and got a job and stopped growing.

Since Medical marijuana came to California, I have gotten back into it.

I grow to get great weed and I like growing

Discovered good weed in the early 90s, after a few years of bricked seedy, ammonia and soap smelling stuff. Very quickly realized that I either had to deal (no thanks) or learn to grow. Being a nerd, I read the books and followed the instructions closely. Was blown away at how well it worked out. Everyone I knew said I had the best stuff they had ever had, and I had to fake scarcity when the town was "dry". "Yeah, I know, it's terrible... but hey, I have one last little tiny nug, wanna smoke?"

Couple decades later, here we are. I am pleased to see these times changing, but hate how they have changed. I have no interest in dispensary pet strains or the kushification of the product. No interest in dabs or wax. I just grow good bud, mostly optimized heirlooms, and hyper-organic. I taste stuff that friends have from time to time, and always say thanks and then go back to my own.

It's really easy to supply one's own family. I used to have dreams of it being a living, but like everything else, once it is business, it is totally ruined. I will never do that to my herb, which is why I am not at all interested in this new "industry".

Even if it ends up costing more to grow my own, I will do it as long as I am able. Would be nice to do so without legal hassle or worry, but if wishes was fishes...

Love growing what I can consume. Berries, veggies, fruit....and yes, long time grower of our friend, cannabis.

In my earlier years, it was to be high, or helped the trudging of backpacking in the SW/NW....miles of trails, summit peaks, mountain meadows. It was a nice reward (xc skiing, too!) during the trek, etc.

Now, I've watched the metamorphosis of medicinal the last 10 yrs.....seeing how it has helped myself and countless others.

It's a gorgeous plant to grow...like Jhhnn mentioned...a beautiful plant.

In my first post here, I wrote: I cut my association with weed back in the '80's chasing career and family and have recently returned at the behest of a friend struggling with MS and its treatments.

Growing this plant has been the most rewarding of experiences for me.
I have grown a lot of exotic plants and manage a productive food lot each summer but nothing comes close to the joy it gives me.
Joy.
Can't find a better word.

I try to grow everything I consume myself. Okay, of course, it is quite impossible to grow everything, but marihuana growing was something that I just always knew I wanted to do. This is my special plant. This is my good morning pill, this is my good night pill. I need to know where it comes from, and the satisfaction of smoking some that I've grown myself in the greatest. I come home after a long day at work, pull out my pipe, say, the one I love from smokewire, I light it up and then all the worries of the world just fade away. This is something I look forward to pretty much every day.

1. I just love to grow
2. I hate purchasing on black market
3. I love the challenge of setting up stealth cabinets
4. Now that Colo passed a64 I can really enjoy having a small stealth grow and don't have to worry constantly bout the man coming to my door
5. I just love to grow
6. Have been doing it off and on since the early eighties and it is the activity that most calms me down from the stress I find myself under. I can just let it all evaporate away in bright lights ,shades of green and a couple puffs of vapor.
