Hey everybody, my name is D, and i'll be your host for this venture . D.U.D.E was ballsy enough to send me 5 each of Caliente Kong, Alaskan thunder kong, sativa loco, and border haze to test. This thread will be just for the kongs. I'll be doing another test with sativa loco and border haze at a later date. Seeds all arrived safe and well packaged. All were healthy dark brown, and passed the pinch test. I dropped them in water for ~36 hours, then planted in beer cups of pure coco. 8/10 broke ground after ~30 hours. Still waiting on the other two to see if you'll show their heads. Only been given tap water so far, but as they dry up I'll start giving nutes @ 2g per gal. of jacks hydro + 2g per gal. cal-nit + 1ml per gal. roots excellerator + 5ml per gal. SM90.

Not much to look at yet, but here they are at 4 days old.

Really glad to have them go through your garden bro..
I know they will need to be worthy to make it through the hoops
yet im confident given what im seeing in my garden that they will hold their own...

Im going to really enjoy seeing the 2 kongs done next to each other... Gives a golden opportunity to see the influence from the different pops...

I don't know about favorites. I told D.U.D.E before he accepted me as a tester I'd grow whatever he sent, but I also made sure he understood I wouldn't show them any more mercy than I do anything else. If you've been following along you know I kill perfectly healthy plants in veg just because they are showing what I consider weak/undesirable characteristics. Honestly I think he has a lot of brass for sending me four relatively untested strains to play with . I'm a hard critic, and these will be going head to head with ten other strains from established breeders. Should be a good show

I guess I'm not the only one who kills plants by the handful. Purposely of course

Out of my last seed pop, 33/34 came up. of those, 22 were female (some were fem seeds)... of those 22, 10 made it into my current donut. And of those 10, 3 are small, being used to fill the gaps and 3 I would consider "keepers.." And even then, they arent perfect. There are 4 strains in there, and I feel like I would need 30 beans + of each to be happy with a keeper.

I've come to find...the shitty ones just arent worth their space

Alright been a couple weeks, time for an update. After ~2 weeks I got 8 of 10 to germinate (first 8 within 30 hours of planting), the last two just didn't have it in them . This leaves us with 4 of each strain to test, fingers crossed for females . As soon as they germinated I started feeding jacks hydro @ 2g per gal. + cal-nit @ 2g per gal. + roots excel @ 1ml per gal. + SM90 @ 5ml per gal. with every watering. There is some slight damage from them drying up a bit too much between visits, but they'll bounce back in no time.

Updates will become more frequent and detailed as things progress, and there's more to share .

Be happy it's only 30 . I'm popping hundreds of seeds just to see what varieties I want to go back and pop a few hundred of to find my keeper. So far bog's sour bubble and sour strawberry kush, 40amps berry sour cream, and classic seeds blueberry are holding potential slots. Killing plants is partly out of necessity in my case, but experience has taught me that weak plants 99% of time don't produce keepers. So with that in mind it doesn't hurt my feelings to cull the herd so to speak.
