the super majority vote needed to pass is tough but all polling I have seen shows in excess of 70% in favor of mmj but I guess time will tell.

I didn't think anything voted on could be vetoed, bills before the FL congress yes, but voted on no.
My impression is this huge money maker will be tightly controlled and regulated by the FL government making any private caregivers not possible. The regulations for the law have already been posted in another thread here. Private growing is out.

I think the governor can veto any bill that passes over his desk, but then the FL congress can override the veto with a majority vote. But I don't know for sure. Nonetheless, Scott has to sign any new bill before it can be implemented as legislation, and I don't think he's going to be signing off on anything. Legal or not! The Supreme Court just ruled his last minute changes to the voting laws during the last session as unconstitutional the other day. Scott knew it was unconstitutional while he was doing it. He's a cocksucker. He doesn't give a damn what the laws are, nor does he give a damn about Florida.
He's the reason I moved out of that state. Voldemort-looking asshole. |

Although John Morgan has said its a no grow the actual ammendment says nothing about growing... The only reason I can come up with, is that he is trying to make the initiative seem more conservative, if you go to his website you will see a chart comparing FL(if it passed) to CA which he has villified... "we dont want to be another California" I dont agree with what he is saying but being that there is nothing in the iniative about growing I can only assume that this is excellent lawyering from an excellent lawyer.... pay attention to left hand so they dont see what your doing with the right..lolIt does spell out caregivier rights and responsibilities and does limit to 5 patients.. but nothing about growing... It will be up to the dept. of health to creat regulations, cards, "reasonable amounts" etc.... heres a link to the full text of the ammendment... https://medicalmarijuana.procon.org/s...ative-2014.pdf Theres is also normal legislation in the form of the Cathy Jordan medical cannabis act.... SB 962/HB 859 It does allow home growing.... ![]() I am a native floridian and I so dearly hope home growing is allowed... and that they dont come up with huge draconian fees(see illinois) that keep out all but the big guys or those willing to give up the controlling interest of their dream to an investor.... If things dont go well Im packing up the fam and moving to Oregon.... I would miss my beautiful blackwater home though.... and her PERFECT environment for growing... |

If Scott ignores the will of the people, He might lose the election over it. May lose anyways.
Yes, the aim is a "no-Grow" ordinance. However, the Dispos are charged with producing 80% of the product.. So, where does the 20% come from..? Other dispensaries..? What I find silly is all the people "Getting Involved" in 420 in FL who have absolutely No knowledge of the plant. Except maybe how to roll a joint. One gentleman in Tampa is a perfect example of it. We talked, and His desire is to completely corner the whole Florida Market in all aspects of 420 - classes, grow ops, dispos.. No room for anyone else in His world... Why..? Jeesh.

Yeah, talked with a few people there... fifteen locations in the tampa/clearwater area alone...
I'm praying the cathy jordan act SB 962/HB 859 passes as well... that would allow home growing. Thats a huge point for me... trying to stay positive.... |

If the fools had half a brain, they would go ahead and pass the Cathy Jordan version and possibly cancel the effect of having so many democrats and liberals show up just for the cannabis bill

It is amazing the amount of disinformation going around Florida. Everyone cashing in on "Education" at this juncture in time. I find it like High Comedy (pun intended). Can;t wait for the 30-year Florida "Established Nurseries" to take on Cannabis Growing from their perspective of Tomato and Cucumber Growing. Some May actually do the homework necessary to get it done, or partner up wisely, most will flail in abject arrogance which has humbled many a grower.
