Best lawyer's by state list

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum here and have been really impressed by everyone's expierence and professionalism on this forum. ICMag appears to be a group of mature connoisseurs, who have been around the block, and have come to logical conclusions on how to avoid prison based on experience instead of hearsay. Last year I was arrested for possesion of .5g and some paraphernalia. Long story short, my lawyer was a joke and a waste of $3,000. Damn near everything stuck to a certain extent, and I have a measly traffic stop hanging over my head to this day. Which brings me to my point. I think that collectively, we can all compile a list of decent lawyer's by state who have proven to be useful for guys and gals in our line of work or interest. Kind of like how all the guido's in movies have that sleazy lawyer in a reflective italian suit, who can get them out of anything as long as they plea the fifth. I have no names to contribute at this time, I just wanted to see if I can spark some interest. Thanks everyone!

i wondered why angie's list didnt rank attny's... my guess is that even a truthful account one's personal experience (if negative) will get harassed w libel suits by that attny, perhaps even the host site.

but if u get north just a bit & have a prob... can give u the scoop. ;-) i'v heard komorn is a real go getter locally though.

It's a real good idea to me. My experience of the court system shows that the system has more to do with connections than laws. The best lawyers seem to be the ones who have the most connections in the specific county that you are in. A lot of times these lawyers don't care to hear any details on your arrest from you. It's all about money and their connections a lot of times. They seem to drag on cases for a long time on purpose. They don't like to talk to you and it's like you are bothering them when you call them to see what's going on. This has been my experience. I should have gone to prison at least one time with my old charges but my lawyer was so good!

Snype is spot-on. I've found in most places, it's best not to bring in a "big shot" out of town attorney, but to find the local hotshot - usually the best connected guy with the most strings to pull.

I do stick to smaller towns and cities where everything can be bought, for cheaper.

Yeah I like bigger cities because their court systems are usually more backed up with too many cases. As far as "big shot out of town attorneys", I would only use them if the case is bad and I would use them in coordination with the local guy with all the connections if you have to go to trial. The local guy with all the connections will usually not have to go all the way to trial unless the case is pretty big. The local big shot that I used represented senators in my state. He only lost 2 cases in his career and those were murder cases. It can cost a lot of money though. Easily over 10k.

I like to find former DAs in my co. Now in private practice most of them still play golf with current DAs and have relationships with most if not all the judges. It's saved my bacon a few times in the past.

Maybe if we have enough name drops of good lawyers or firms, we could get them stickied in each state's respective forum.
