Will worm castings burn seedlings? - Organic Soil - International Cannagraphic Magazine Forums

I tried doing a search on seedling soil mix, because I've read nutes will burn seedlings, so instead of using LC's soil mix with ammendments, I was going to use just the soil mix...so just peat moss, castings, and perlite (at 5/2/3 respectivley).

Is this an okay medium to put germinated seedlings into or do worm castings have to much nutrients in them?

In addition weak nutes means what exactly? I have soil thats sitting around using LC's suggested ammenments...are those nutes weak enough?

Rule of thumb...if a worm can live in it, so can your plant.

You will be fine dude.

I have not heard from LC in a while, but just the basic mix is all you need. You can water with plain pH'ed water for 2-3 weeks, then move to 1/4-1/2 strenght.

Worm casting has some npk but this is a low number (consistant with organics) but its the micro organism and micro nutrients that are of most value from ewc. That and the conditioning of the soil from its texture. As I have read it.

Oh and you could grow your seedlings in nothing but ewc's but htat would a hugh waste of money.

I kinda figured this. I've germed in the ewc before, but my results weren't so awesome...but that was most probably due to my noobness, anyways, thanks for the replies.

Its all good-I have been growing for 16 months now myself and have yet produced a "steller" harvest-nothing like some of the other folks here.

I use WC to sprout my seedlings mixed with a little perlite. Works great without any burning.
