I saw your post about encouraging root growth. What I've been doing during transplanting is dusting my roots with BioAg's VAM. This is a specially formulated product consisting of 7 species of Granular Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi. Maybe you already understand the symbiotic relationship between the roots and fungi but the short story is that the fungi penetrate the root hair cells. The plant will then provide carbon and lipids to the fungi and the fungi uses these materials to grow out farther into the soil and recover nutrients that are given back to the root for the carbon and such. The fungi gets what it needs to grow and the plant gets back nutrients that aren't easily reached by the root hairs. Because the fungi mycelium is smaller than the root hairs it can get to places that the root hairs can't.

I know there is a lot of claims made but in my experience when I dust the roots of my clones and put them into 4" pots I end up having to transplant in gallon pots in 5-7 days because the roots are growing out of the bottom of the pot. I again dust them with more VAM. I transplant into slightly bigger pots until I get them to my final pots. I have lots of roots from doing this.

Here what one of my gallon pots looks like.

Seeing as you have a keen eye and and seem to enjoy recognizing traits carried over...A joy we share... I though you might like a closer look at the male used... I only wish I had tossed the original male outside so as to have had a flowered look at him. As it is I liked what I saw in veg and once he showed male I knew I had my pop so I cloned him and vegged till ready for him....

Hope it helps in your hunts,bro...

@Alien Dawg: Thank you for posting the male, all I notice
at this point are the leaf serrations of your male, just like
Thunder Kong#4. I'll keep looking at the strucutres but imo
what would help a lot is side shots of the plants bent down
though that seems a little extreme to do for me, one thing
I plan on doing is taking flat pictures of harvested and culled
plants to observe structural traits. I'm OCD over node spacing.

@PakaloloFromPNW: I really appreciate your input, I feel like
this is something people should be aware of and possibly do
themselves to see if they like the results. I'm very familiar
with the symbiotic relationship of the microherd and our moms,
my growing medium concentrates purely on supplementing the
life below; with my live organic soil I never feed my girls anything,
only having to feed the soil solidified fish that we order by the 55
gallon drum. Extremely simple, no ferts to flush out, keeps rotation
easier; very K.I.S.S. in my opinion. I almost forgot about posting
transplanting gradually through veg to create a prolific center mass
in your final pot size. That one looks really fucking healthy.. nice!!

@DJXX: It's a pleasure to have you stop by, your cookie shows
are fucking killer and it's like a botanical circus seeing what you
are going to grow out next.. I'm glad to have everyone show up!

It's been a really busy past couple of days as cliched as that's
beginning to sound, leaks sealed on the newly expanded parts
and new gativa looking nice, the Blue Alaskan Thunder Kongs
are starting to express less freaky, though the ducksfoot on
BATK#5 had everyone here extremely excited, hoping that it
was a consistent trait. Here's how we're looking..no more frogs.

Blue Alaskan Thunder Kong#3 foreground, #4 left background.

Blue Alaskan Thunder Kong#5, at first most stout and uniform
now kinda runty, expressed the best roots in the flat. Could it be an ugly duckling?

an overview of #3 and #4.

Alien Dawg - Do I understand that you used Ga3 to reverse a male to female?

If you did that would you mind giving a brief explanation on the technique.

Basically I had a male next to 3 females that were getting
sprayed with Ga3 once a night for 10 days before flipping.

Once all were flowered It became apparent that one of
the branches on the male received some over spray and started looking like a Ga3 plant.Sure enough...
The male threw female
flowers as well as male sacks. Pollen flew and here we are...

I had never even thought about a reverse male till I saw it for myself..lol
Like a lot of discoveries come to be,It was a total accident...

You can find the whole story here....

I had heard of turning males to females but I hadn't heard of turning female to male. It kind of makes sense that it would work both ways. I've got 2 males from seeds I froze way back in the 70's. I'm thinking about Ga3'ing them and produce some babies. I can follow hose instructions. Thank you.

I would suggest trying 1 branch on one plant and the
whole canopy on the other...
I have a feeling, one branch/light mist is the winning combo...
2 Cents and lets use know how it goes...

I'm too grateful for the mindful discussion ITT

You guys really make the place alive and full of useful
information and the sort of creative discourse that
initiates the kind of experimentation (and results) ICm
is known for. The MTV and Eminem males would be an
awesome project turned into females, just to see how
they turn out by themselves; I recall something on ICm
pertaining to smoking buds from male plants reversed
into females to test flavor and density to potentially
be passed on if the male does so consistently. Those
plants have potential I think.. in my opinion I would
try out MTV(reversed) X MTV, MTV(r) X Eminem,
Eminem(r) X Eminem, and finally Eminem(r) X MTV.

The ducksfoot trait seems to be growing away from
the main stalk of the Blue Alaskan Thunder Kong#3
though the bottom of the structure still expresses..

My bad about the yellow tips, I've fixed the boron
issue that's been deficient in the soil for the past
6 months or so, though just this week we have a
new shipment of soil, so no more manual adding!!
It just seems like it will show the signs in the little
ones before going away..again. Glad that's dialed in

BATK#4, getting a bit more brutish now

BATK#3 left, BATK#4 right, BATK#5 behind;
sorry for the ugliness in the vegetative area
there was a lot of needed culling done lately
