Paramagnetic Rock
Per request, here is a thread dedicated to the subject of paramagnetic rock as a soil amendment.
Some say most/all rock is paramagnetic and this is no big deal; some use strange devices to measure activity which may or may not be relevant. Some say especially paramagnetic material will increase the "ormus" value of soil, being some kind of Subtle Energy. This thread shall be courteous and accepting of all input, be it rigorously scientific or poetic/noetic/alchemical fantasy. It would do well to try to make it clear which mode of thought you are presenting, however. Some starting points, I am sure you can find more: https://www.dirtdoctor.com/Paragmagne...owth_vq127.htm https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paramagnetism https://www.subtleenergies.com/ormus/tw/paramag.htm https://www.malcolmbeck.com/books/gv_...amagnetism.htm and if you want to buy a meter to see for yourself how your soil stacks up... https://www.pikeagri.com/component/vi...etail?Itemid=0 Note that I have zero to say on any of these matters. It actually sounds pretty fishy to me, but I am also open-minded to the fact that our science is still in the dark about many areas. I did add some allegedly highly-paramagnetic rock to my last soil batch for the fun of it, but am otherwise entirely on the fence about this stuff and would love to hear thoughts from skeptics and believers alike. So have at it! |

I have read somewhere that pink granite is one of the most paramagnetic, and this is why it was used in parts of the pyramids.
I've been contemplating using pink granite gravel as a hydro medium, with some worm castings top dressed. Bubble bucket style. |

I use a product called Volcanite, 5 paramagnetic sands mixed. Available regionally or from https://www.garden-ville.com/ I believe they will ship. -granger

I just finished reading
Paramagnetism Rediscovering Natures Secret Force of Growth By Philip S. Callahan. Its a good read & I recomend it to any interested in this subject. I'd wager that these subtle earth energies are very real & much used by the ancients. Sadly, the knowledge has been glossed over by academics for more profitable ideas. |

So theoretically it is the paramagnetic energy that is important. I was told by someone who believes that you could take a baggy of it, chuck it under your clones and get roots faster. I got the material from build a soil...tested, highly paramagnetic
No improvement in rooting on 3 side by sides. Not enough data for a real conclusion...but I am skeptical |

I believe build a soils source is Rock Dust Local. I am interested in your findings MilkyJoe. I have been using it in the worm bin.

Lots of good minerals in it.
There is suppose to be a big paramagnetic vein that runs down I70 in western CO. Perhaps I am close enough to benefit The guy that showed it to me had pics of seedlings. They were impressive |
