THC Production, GH vs. Indoor

Howdy folks,
We all know that legal cannabis (specifically in Colorado) will tempt more growers to use the great HPS in the sky to grow our favorite flower. While planning a retail/med garden expansion, I'm wondering why there are so many growers deciding to set up multiple 1000kWs indoors when Colorado gets over 300 days of sun per year.

A trusted grower friend exclaimed, "Outdoor bud will never touch indoor resin content".
It seems with the environmental control capability of modern greenhouse structures we would be able to closely replicate indoor conditions, therefore higher quality/resin content.

I'm not interested yielding #'s and #'s of OD midgrade. I want to grow quality plants for full plant hydrocarbon extractions.
My question to the public is, for an extraction based business, does it make sense growing in greenhouses/can resin production (THC% by weight) compete with indoor grown crops?

I'm setting up a small GH as a test lab this summer and will slowly update this thread with more details as they come along. Process, setup, strains, controls, etc. to follow...

In experience proper grown light dep surpasses indoor. To get the quality you want you have to get mid summer sun in my opinion but that here in Humboldt but you are in CO so you should go for it.

Tricky one - i might say indoor has some special magic compared to greenhouse stuff

i have run same cuts for years in and out in greenhouse and some strains are almost the same but some in the greenhouse is notable weaker.. just my observations

a greenhouse is the cheapest way to grow high quality stuff that can compete with the best indoor.

Greenhouse growing is also environmental friendly compared to the high power use in a indoor operation, its also more easy to make larger grows in a greenhouse compared to indoors
