Follow up to Overgrow's question:

Are the F2+ generations stronger than the JLB, or is this just from the hybrid vigor?

If this is so, I might try a JLB x Nepali Jam cross, "Early Double".

I only have my experience with hybrid corn here but while the resulting offspring of JLB/Nepali Jam X Double Jam might be vigorous they would not display the heterosis shown by a cross of two distinct inbred lines.

JLB/Nepali Jam X Double Jam. I was only blessed with a couple of bags of Jamaican back in the 70's. It had lots of thin stringy stems and a very peppery taste. Lots of seeds and long scraggly buds. It was a lot better than the Mexican that was around.

Hello RC,

The purple stems are due to a deficiency of phosphorus, nitrogen deficiency also shows, there are not enough nutrients, or is there water stress!
This does not mean that individuals will all purple, unfortunately :-(

Many thx for the pics

Jamaica Blue Mountain is not a cross, it's a pure old Jamaican (althought not as old as the Lamsbread strains from the 70s) strain preserved around Spain since the 80s, it was collected in 1985.

They were bred for years by CBG and even brought back to Jamaica years ago. They mature in 14-16 weeks minimum and it was reported frequently that they have fruity strawberry or bubblegum flavour. There are some uplifting and trippy plants, others warmer in effect.

More info and nice pictures of the JBM here: https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=177581

So Double Jam it's a 100% Jamaican F1, both strains are probably some of the last unhybridised jamaican strains that have been preserved in the whole world. At least within the grower's scene, as probably some of the most elitist rasta collectives from Jamaica still keep stuff like this for their own sacramental purposes.
